Portion of Route 138 in Bowdoinham will close for repairs

MaineDOT announced today that a short section of the Post Road (Route 138) in Bowdoinham will be closed starting April 21 so crews can install curbing and guardrail alongside the road where it crosses a brook.

The Post Road will be closed between the intersections of the Millay Road and Route 125 starting on Wednesday, April 21. MaineDOT expects to reopen the road by the end of the day on Friday, April 30.

Motorists who utilize this section of the Post Road can access Route 125 and 138 using Center Street.

Roadwork on 1A in Ellsworth set to resume

Construction on Route 1A in Ellsworth is set to resume this Monday, April 19, as crews will be onsite removing portions of pavement along this seven-mile stretch of the roadway. Two-way travel will be maintained during this phase of construction, but there will be an increase in the number of construction vehicles on the road, and motorists can expect segments of gravel road.

Construction on this project began last fall, and since then, crews have removed trees, improved drainage, and excavated sections of the project.

MaineDOT Announces Improvements for I-295 in Greater Portland Area

Portland, ME ? MaineDOT officials announced today that work is about to begin on a series of improvement projects totaling $8.4 million for I-295 in the greater Portland area. Paving and bridgework will be done in the northbound lanes between the Portland-Falmouth line and Freeport. Guardrail maintenance and improvements will also be done in the median along that same stretch of I-295. The majority of work is planned to occur overnight, but some daytime lane closures will occur.

Work Begins on I-295 Northbound Lanes Between Portland and Freeport

On Sunday night, May 9th at 8:00 p.m., MaineDOT will begin work onthe northbound lanes of I-295 between the Portland-Falmouth line and Freeport. After some initial preparation work, overnight paving will be done from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Saturday to Friday through October. Single-lane closures will occur overnight Saturday through Friday. Due to heavier northbound traffic volume on Fridays, work will end Friday mornings and resume Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m.

Paving to occur Monday at route 3/198 intersection in Bar Harbor

Construction crews have nearly completed work on the Route 3/198 intersection in Bar Harbor, and on Monday, May 10, crews will be paving Route 198 at the intersection of Route 3.

During the paving process, crews will be monitoring traffic in order to limit delays. If traffic delays start to exceed 10 minutes, the contractor has been directed to cease paving and to remove construction equipment from the roadway in order to eliminate the delays.

Work Is Under Way On I-295 Northbound Lanes, Portland to Freeport

MaineDOT contractors are working along the right shoulder of the northbound lanes of I-295 between the Portland-Falmouth line and Freeport, preparing for overnight paving that will begin soon.

Guardrail work is being done between Portland and Freeport, lane use will be restricted where that work is being done.

Speed limits will be reduced to 55 miles per hour through the work zones. For more information visit mainedot.gov.

Nighttime Paving will begin soon on Route 1 southbound in Brunswick

MaineDOT announced today that starting the week of May 17, construction crews will start placing signs alerting motorists to the upcoming night paving project on Route 1 southbound in Brunswick.

Crews will begin to remove sections of the old pavement along Route 1 southbound starting the week of May 24. The project begins at the Cooks Corner exit ramp, and continues south to Mill Street in Brunswick.

Due to the high volumes of traffic, all paving work will be done at night. Work hours will be 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday night through Thursday nights.
