ORONO - The Maine Department of Transportation will be performing bridge maintenance activities on the Brandon M. Silk Bridge that carries traffic along Route 2 over the Stillwater River. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 9th and be completed in late August. Northbound traffic over the bridge will not be affected. Southbound traffic will use a signed detour route that follows College Avenue, Stillwater Avenue, and Bennoch Road. The contractor on this project is BMB Construction of Holden. The contract amount is $500,000.
