Farmingdale, ME ? Sargent Corporation officials announced today that Route 201 in Farmingdale will be closed to thru-traffic from approximately 7PM Friday, Sept. 9 until Thursday night, Sept. 15, weather permitting. The construction of a large box culvert between Northern Ave. and Sheldon St. requires that the road be closed and for a detour to be in effect. Rt. 201 will be open to local traffic only between Maple St. and Sheldon St. for access to homes and businesses. Access to all businesses will be maintained. Officials are encouraging thru-traffic to use Rt.

PORTLAND, Maine ? Preliminary nighttime construction is set to begin tonight (September 8) on an outer portion of Forest Avenue in Portland between the intersection of Riverside Street and the Riverside Industrial Parkway.

Crews will be working tonight at the Riverside Industrial Parkway. Starting Sunday, construction will move onto Forest Avenue.

PORTLAND, Maine -- Construction crews plan to continue mill-and-fill paving operations on Interstate 295 Northbound beginning Sunday evening, September 11 through Wednesday night, September 14, weather permitting. Crews will focus on the stretch of highway between Franklin Street and Veranda Street exits, and will close one lane to travel to facilitate paving.

Farmingdale, ME ? The temporary closure of U.S. Route 201 to through-traffic between Sheldon St. and Northern Ave. in Farmingdale is scheduled to begin tonight at approximately 7PM. A detour for through-traffic will be established at Maple St. for those traveling southbound, and at Northern Ave. for those traveling northbound. Through traffic may avoid the detour altogether by using Rt. 9 on the east side of the Kennebec River or other alternate routes. Rt. 201 will remain open to local traffic except between Sheldon St.

MOUNT DESERT, Maine ? Motorists traveling to Acadia National Park need to be aware of a 35-day bridge closure on the Stanley Brook Road in Seal Harbor that is set to begin on Monday, September 19. During that time crews will be replacing the nearly 60-year old Stanley Brook Bridge.

During the closure, motorists will be detoured to a route that includes the Stanley Brook Road and the Jordan Pond Road. Motorists towing large RVs need to be aware that there are several low clearance bridges along the detour route.

Farmingdale, ME ? Sargent Corporation announced today that Route 201 is reopening ahead of schedule. Crews will allow alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers at the box culvert construction site. The closure to through-traffic had been planned to continue through Thursday night, September 15 but the road will actually have re-opened Tuesday night, September 13, two days ahead of schedule.

FALMOUTH, Maine ? Motorists who utilize the Falmouth Spur northbound from the Maine Turnpike in Westbrook to I-295 in Falmouth will now utilize a short detour in order to access I-295 Northbound in Falmouth.

In order to make the I-295 Northbound Falmouth Spur on-ramp safer, crews will be lengthening the acceleration lane onto I-295 northbound. Crews must close this exit on-ramp while under construction. During construction, motorists will be directed to a ? mile detour to I -295 Northbound that utilizes Route 1 and the Bucknam Road on-ramp.

WEST BATH, Maine ? The New Meadows Bridge, which carries the New Meadows Road over Route 1 in West Bath will be closed to traffic starting on Friday, September 23 at 3:30 p.m., and then reopening the following day on Saturday, September 24 at 5 p.m.

During the closure, motorists will be directed to a signed detour that utilizes the New Meadows Road, Witch Spring Hill Road and the Old Bath Road.

NORRIDGEWOCK, Maine ? Motorists who utilize Route 201A and 8 in Norridgewock need to be aware of upcoming rail crossing work that will necessitate a 36-hour road closure that begins Monday, September 26. Vehicles will be directed to a signed detour that utilizes Route 2, Route 201 and the River Road.

Construction on the railroad crossing is set to begin at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, September 26 and is expected to complete by late afternoon on Tuesday, September 27. The railroad crossing is located just south of the Norridgewock Bridge.

FAIRFIELD, Maine ? Starting Monday, October 3, a segment of I-95 Northbound and Southbound in Fairfield and Benton will be reduced to one lane in order for crews to begin working on crossover lanes in preparation of the rehabilitation of the bridges that carry I-95 over the Kennebec River in Fairfield and Benton.
