There are three interstate pipelines located in Maine but that are not regulated by the Maine Public Utilities Commission. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulates the operations, safety, and rates of these pipelines. These pipelines are:
- Portland Natural Gas Transmission System (PNGTS)
- Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline
- Granite State Gas Transmission Company
