Waldo County Arrests

The Maine State Police arrest 16 people in Waldo County for various offenses over the course of a week’s-long investigation. Troopers culminated the investigation with the execution of a search warrant in Northport.

On Sept. 14, 2020, Maine State Police executed a Search Warrant at 175 Rocky Road in the Town of Northport.  The warrant came at the conclusion of a week-long investigation in Waldo County resulting in the arrest of 16 individuals for various charges including but not limited to Trafficking in Schedule drugs, Possession of Methamphetamine, Heroin Possession, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Violation of Conditions of release.  The State Police were assisted by our State, Local and County partners in these endeavors with Waldo County Sheriff’s Department present and participating at the execution of the search warrant on September 14 in Northport.

Human Remains Found in Unity

State Police are investigating the discovery of human remains in Sandy Stream in Unity.  The discovery was made by kayakers last Friday.  They contacted the Waldo Sheriff's Office.   State Police Detectives collected the remains and have consulted with the State Medical Examiner’s office. The remains appear to be an adult man and likely have been in the stream for several years.  Detectives, Game Wardens and State Police Evidence Technicians conducted searches of the area this week and more are planned, both in the stream and in the immediate area.  Investigators also have reviewed missing persons cases on file, but there is no obvious match.  Anyone with information about the case is asked to call State Police in Augusta at 207-624-7076. 

UPDATE: Missing Searsmont Woman Located Safely

UPDATE: Jacqueline Reed was located safe today after being unaccounted for since Tuesday.  She was located in Lewiston Saturday afternoon. 

State Police and the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public's help in locating a missing Searsmont woman, who was last seen in Auburn, this past week.  29 year old Jacqueline Reed was last seen on Center Street in Auburn at 10 PM on Tuesday April 28.  Reed is 5'6" tall, weighs 130 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.   Reed lives on the Morrow Road in Searsmont .  Anyone with information on Reed or knows of  her whereabouts is asked to call the State Police's Communication Center in Augusta at 624-7076.
