    12-13-21

    Trooper Travis Chapman conducted a traffic stop on Route 1 in Sullivan. As a result of the roadside investigation, the operator William Fongeallaz (37) of Gouldsboro was arrested. William was charged with Operating After Revocation, Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person and Violation of Conditions of Release. Corporal Gavin Endre assisted.

    Trooper Kim Sawyer received a criminal mischief complaint in Princeton. It was reported that windows of an unoccupied home were broken.

  • Troop G Weekly Report - 12/13/2021 - 12/19/2021

    On 12/13/2021, Cpl. Cote stopped Amie Iteka (22) of Lewiston on the ME Turnpike northbound in Falmouth for traveling 104 MPH.  She was charged with Criminal Speed.

    On 12/15/2021, Cpl. Cote stopped Brittany Burnham (25) of Skowhegan on the ME Turnpike northbound in Lewiston.  Her ME Driver’s License was found to be suspended.  She was charged with Operating after Suspension and Possession of a Suspended License.  A licensed passenger drove the vehicle away.

    On 12/15/2021, Cpl. Cote stopped Zachary Falter (25) of Bath on the ME Turnpike southbound in Gray.  His ME Driver’s License was found to be suspended.  He was charged with Operating after Suspension and Possession of a Suspended License.  His vehicle was towed away.

    On 12/15/2021, Cpl. Cote stopped Kendall Felix (33) of Brooklyn, NY on the ME Turnpike northbound in South Portland for traveling 87 MPH in a posted 50 MPH zone.  He was charged with Criminal Speed.

    On 12/15/2021, Cpl. Peckham took a report of a rollover crash in Gray on I-95. Ahmed Dudeyeh (18) of Georgia was charged with Operating w/o License.

    On 12/15/2021, Cpl. Peckham stopped Dakota Glidden (25) of Litchfield in West Gardiner on I-95 for a vehicle defect. Glidden was charged with Attaching False Plates and no insurance. The vehicle was towed.

    On 12/16/2021, Cpl. Cote stopped Walter Ovalle Juarez (21) of Portland on the ME Turnpike northbound in Ogunquit.  He did not have a license.  He was charged with Operating Without a License and a licensed operator drove the vehicle away.

    On 12/16/2021, Cpl. Peckham stopped Julia Rhinebolt (30) of Wiscasset in Hallowell on I-95. Rhinebolt was charged with Operating After Registration Suspended.

    On 12/17/2021, Cpl. Physic arrested Donna Ford (64) for OUI.  Donna took an Intoxilyzer test and blew over the legal limit.

    On 12/18/2021, Tpr. LiBritz responded to a tractor trailer truck that jackknifed on the Saco River Bridge at mile 33 southbound during the snowstorm. It was determined the unit lost control, struck the center guardrail, and then went off the road on the right side. The tractor trailer truck jackknifed, and the tractor went through the bridge rails. The driver had minor injuries. Two lanes were shut down for several hours until it was removed. Sgt. Pappas assisted with traffic control.

    On 12/19/2021, Tpr. LiBritz responded to mile 22 northbound in Wells for a report of a large box truck on its side. Lanes one and two were completely blocked and remained that way for several hours.  Sgt. Pappas assisted with traffic control.  This incident occurred during the storm and there were poor road conditions. The driver and passenger were not injured.

     

  • Maine State Trooper locates missing elderly man and carries him to safety

     

    On Wednesday, December, 22, 2021 at 5:00 a.m. Maine State Police responded to a report of an elderly man with Alzheimer’s that had wandered away from his home in Vassalboro. Troopers responded to the scene and started searching the area. Troopers were able to gather intelligence information from a town plow truck driver that saw a man walking in the area in the early morning hours during the storm. Trooper Tyler Harrington was able to locate the man in a ditch on Mudget Hill Rd. in Vassalboro. The man, 82 year old Bernard Perry was suffering from severe hypothermia and frostbite. Trooper Harrington carried Perry to his cruiser as he was unable to walk and awaited the arrival of an ambulance. Perry was transported to Maine General Hospital in Augusta where he is recovering from his injuries.  

    We are grateful Bernard Perry was found in a timely manner and is recuperating. We are also thankful for Trooper Harrington, Maine State Police Troopers and all Law Enforcement Officers in Maine who do an exceptional job protecting the citizens of Maine and all those who visit our great state.

    Trooper Jarid Leonard conducted a motor vehicle stop in Machias on Joseph Gooch (24) of East Machias. As a result of the investigation, Joseph was charged for Attaching False Plates.

    Trooper Kim Sawyer summonsed James Walker (56) of Topsfield for Passing a Stopped School Bus with the Flashers on Rolfe Street in Princeton.

    Corporal Jeffrey Taylor summonsed Braden Pottle (20) of Lubec for Class C Operating Under the Influence and Aggravated Driving to Endanger among several other charges as result of a serious personal injury crash in Whiting that occurred in October.

  • Troop F Weekly Report 12-20 to 12-26-21

    Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Rider was conducting traffic enforcement in Van Buren and observed a vehicle pulling a trailer that did not have working trailer lights.  He stopped the vehicle to address the issue and during his investigation discovered the passenger had an active warrant for failing to appear in court.  The man was arrested and transported to Madawaska PD where he was able to post bail.  The driver of the vehicle was issued a warning for the defect.

    Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Castonguay was conducting traffic enforcement in Castle Hill and observed a vehicle speeding.  After stopping the vehicle Tr. Castonguay discovered the driver had an intermediate driver’s license which prohibited him from having passengers that were not immediate family; there were two of the driver’s friends in the back seat.  After an investigation, the juvenile drivers were issued a summons for speeding and for violating his intermediate driver’s license.  One of the passengers had a valid license without restriction and was able to driver them home.  The parents of the juvenile driver were notified of the incident.

    Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Roy was conducting traffic enforcement in Van Buren and observed a vehicle not displaying a valid inspection certificate.  He stopped the vehicle and upon further investigation discovered the driver had a suspended Maine driver’s license.  The man was issued a criminal summons for OAS and a traffic summons for operating a defective motor vehicle.

    Brief Synopsis:       A local man turned himself in to the Houlton State Police barracks due to having an active warrant for his arrest. The male was able to post bail and was released.

    Trooper:                   tr. mahon

    Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Mahon was monitoring traffic in Monticello when he stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.  Tr. Mahon discovered the female operator’s license was suspended in Maine.  Tr. Mahon charged the 38-year old New Hampshire woman with OAS.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

    Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Curtin responded to a commercial garage in Wallagrass after a man called to report someone had backed up to his fuel tank and stole fuel from it.  Tr. Curtin photographed tire impressions that were left at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

    Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Curtin received a theft report from a Van Buren man after he discovered someone had stolen a box of copper fittings.  The investigation is ongoing.

  • Troop G Weekly Report - 12/20/2021 - 12/26/2021

    On 12/20/2021, Tr. Ellis stopped Emily Wallingford (18) of Minot on the ME turnpike for speeding 104/70 in Scarborough. She was summonsed for the speed.

    On 12/20/2021, Cpl. Peckham stopped Ashley Stevens (25) of Auburn for speeding on I-95 in Farmingdale. Stevens was wanted on an FTA warrant. She was PR bailed and issued a summons for speed.

    On 12/20/2021, Cpl. Peckham stopped Christopher Buzzell (55) of Norridgewock for speeding 105/70 on I-95 in West Gardiner. Buzzell was charged with criminal speed.

    On 12/21/2021, Cpl. Peckham stopped Carianna Keniston (34) of Washington, D.C. for a vehicle defect on I-95 in Litchfield. Keniston was charged with operating without a license, failure to stop, and refusing to submit to arrest.

    On 12/22/2021, Tr. Ellis stopped Patrick Denise-Williams (26) of Massachusetts for speeding 98/70 northbound in Kennebunk. His license was found to be suspended. He was charged with operating after suspension and summonsed for the speed. A licensed driver drove the vehicle away.

    On 12/22/2021, Cpl. Cote arrested Lisa Duval (52) of Salisbury, MA on the ME Turnpike northbound in Ogunquit.  She was under the influence, put through a battery of field sobriety tests, and found to be impaired.  She was taken to the Wells Police Station for an intoxilyzer test.  She refused to take an intoxilzyer test.  She was charged with Operating Under the Influence.

    On 12/24/2021, Sgt. Pappas arrested Joe Ininahazwe for OUI after observing him entering the Maine Turnpike while traveling in the wrong direction.  He refused the inox test.
