Troop D weekly activities for time August 5th to August 11th 2019
On 8/4/19 Cpl. Pelletier and Tr. Dunn stopped Stanley Brown (38) of Oakland on I-295 in Bowdoinham after receiving an erratic operations related complaint. Several clues of impairment were observed and SFST’s were subsequently administered. Brown performed poorly and was then arrested for OUI and transported to Gardiner PD where Spc. Allen conducted an evaluation and found that Brown was under the influence of drugs. Brown was summonsed for OUI, and bailed from GPD.
On 8/5/19 Tr. Martin stopped a vehicle for no front registration plate. The driver, Corey Robinson (22) of Troy was found to be in violation of his bail conditions by possessing alcohol in his vehicle. Robinson was summonsed and released for violating their bail conditions.
On 8/5/19 Tr. Harrington arrested Travis Arbour (26) if Windsor on Route 32 in Windsor during a traffic stop. Arbour had 4 active warrants and was on 5 sets of bail stemming from numerous incidents of criminal activity in the fall of 2018. Arbour was transported to Kennebec County Jail.
On 8/7/19 Tr. Harrington summonsed Scott Billing (42) of Whitefield for OAS and Operating with expired license >90 days on Route 17 in Windsor during a traffic stop.
On 8/9/19 Tr. Peckham responded to a report of a vehicle rolled over on Route 17 in Chelsea. Upon arrival, the operator could not be located and the drivetrain was cold to the touch. The registered owner Tonya Bickford (42) of Augusta was later located and admitted to driving when she crashed around 0030 hours that morning. Bickford was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident, Failing to Make Oral or Written Accident Report, and Sale and Use of Drug Paraphernalia.
On 8/8/19 Tr. Belanger attempted to stop Branden Ricker (41) of Jackson on Pond Road in Brooks. Ricker failed to stop and drove a moped off the roadway, through a field, and proceeded into the woods. Tr. Belanger started a K9 track with Dallas. Ricker’s moped was recovered near a swamp. After approximately 1.5 miles the track was lost. Tr. Belanger and Cpl. Robinson located Ricker at Lovely’s Motel the following day where Ricker was taken into custody. Ricker was with Abigail Wren (31) in the motel room where paraphernalia was found. A search warrant was obtained for the room where paraphernalia, Heroin, Suboxone, Adderall, and a large bag of an unknown white powder were found. Ricker was arrested for two FTA warrants, 1 probation revocation warrant, VCR, OAR, failure to stop for a police officer, operating an unregistered vehicle, possession of heroin, possession of suboxone, and use of drug paraphernalia. Wren was arrested for possession of suboxone, possession of Adderall, and use of drug paraphernalia. Charges are pending following the results of a test on the white powder. Further charges are also pending for the theft of the moped.
On 8/10/19 Tr. Stewart stopped Benjamin Bowman (22) of Dixmont in Unity for an inspection violation. Bowman’s license was criminally suspended, and he was summonsed accordingly.
On 8/10/19 Cpl. Pelletier stopped Alex Mansfield (29) of Belmont on I-295 in Gardiner for a speeding violation. His license was suspended for FT maintain insurance and he was summonsed for the offense.
On 8/10/19 Tr. Martin stopped a vehicle in Jackson for criminal speed. The driver, Zayne Snyder (21) of Northport was driving 78 mph in a posted 45 mph zone. Snyder was summonsed for the speed and released from the scene.
