On July 31, 2019, at approximately 3:45 p.m., the State Police received a 911 call reporting a personal injury crash involving a minivan and a motorcycle on Rt. 10 in Easton.
Trooper’s learned that a motorcycle, operated by Vance Smith, 62, from Easton, was overtaking a vehicle that was making a right turn onto the Richardson Rd. The vehicle making a right turn, was following a Toyota minivan, operated by Mary Johnson, 60, from Easton. Johnson was making a left turn into the J&B Trailer park, as Smith was overtaking the right turning vehicle. Smith could not avoid the minivan and collided with it. Smith was thrown from his motorcycle and succumbed to his injuries on scene.
Rt. 10 was shut down for approximately two and a half hours while Trooper’s reconstructed the crash scene. The investigation is ongoing.
Trooper Kim Sawyer arrested Rebekah Clark (23) of Calais for Operating Under the Influence after an accident on the Cooper Road in Alexander.
Trooper Keith York responded to a theft complaint in Perry where gas was reported stolen from a gas station. Investigation continues.

Trooper Dana Austin stopped a motor vehicle on Route 1 in Milbridge, as a result of the investigation, Samantha Polchies (30) of Sullivan was arrested for Violation of Conditional Release.
Trooper Dana Austin stopped a motor vehicle on Route 1 in Hancock, as a result of the investigation, Cooper Henderson (21) of Hancock was arrested for Operating under the influence. Corporal Christopher Smith assisted.
Trooper Dana Austin responded to a minor motor vehicle accident in Sullivan, as a result of the investigation, Sidney Emerson (49) of Sullivan was arrested for Operating Under the Influence.
Brief Synopsis: Tr. Duff received a report of a motor vehicle theft in Oakfield. A construction company that was working on the Interstate reported a work truck missing from the Oakfield D.O.T. lot. The company had located the truck in the woods off of the interstate by using the GPS unit that is installed on their vehicles. Tr. Duff continues to work with the company to get the GPS coordinates of where the truck may have gone. Tr. Duff is still working on this case.

Trooper: Tr. Desrosier
Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier was patrolling in the town of St. Agatha when he heard a vehicle with a loud exhaust. Tr. Desrosier observed a man operating a moped on the side walk. Tr. Desrosier stopped the man and learned that his license was suspended. The moped was not registered and had a defective exhaust. Tr. Desrosier issued the man a summons for OAS and unregistered motor vehicle.

Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier was patrolling in the town of Woodland when he observed a male cutting grass at a residence. Tr. Desrosier was familiar with the man and thought he had bail conditions not to be there. Tr. Desrosier confirmed that man had bail conditions not to be at the address. Tr. Desrosier arrested the man and transported him to the Aroostook County Jail.

Brief Synopsis: Tr. Martin and Desrosier responded to the town of Stockholm for a property line dispute that erupted into a man chasing his neighbor with a baseball bat or large stick. The man was threatening to kill the neighbor over the property line dispute. Statements were obtained from all parties and it was determined that the man would be charged with terrorizing. The man was arrested and transported to Caribou PD where he posted bail. A disorderly conduct warning was issued to the others.

Brief Synopsis: Tr. Martin received a report of a motor vehicle theft from a residence in Mapleton. The man called reporting that a female acquaintance took his vehicle and his cell phone. Tr. Martin responded to the area but did not locate the vehicle. Tr. Martin took statements and is looking for the female and the truck. The following morning, Caribou PD located the vehicle and had it towed. Tr. Martin continues to work on this case.

Trooper: Tr. Levesque
Brief Synopsis: Tr Levesque responded to a reported motor vehicle crash in Easton. Upon arrival, Tr Levesque found that this was a fatal crash. Investigation would show that the 62 year old male victim had been driving a motorcycle and was following two vehicles. One vehicle made a right turn onto another road and the motorcycle pulled out to pass this vehicle. The lead vehicle, a minivan, then attempted to make a left turn and the motorcycle struck this vehicle, throwing the operator off the motorcycle. The male died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Tr Levesque was assisted at the scene by Sgt Clark, Lt Harris, Lt. Goff, ASO and Easton first responders. The crash was reconstructed and mapped by Tr. Flynn.

Trooper: Cpl. Michaud
Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Michaud responded to an abandoned home in Mapleton when a neighbor reported that a group of individuals appeared to have entered the empty building and had gone inside. Cpl. Michaud located the group and spoke with them after making them exit the building. An adult man and women had taken some teenagers into the building in an effort to film a “ghost hunting adventure” to post on Youtube. Cpl. Michaud spoke to the group about the consequences of entering properties without permission. They were warned for trespassing and sent on their way.

Brief Synopsis: On 8/3/2019 at approximately 5:07 PM the Houlton RCC received a 911 call from a homeowner in Amity who went to check his mail and observed a motorcycle in the ditch. The operator was located nearby in the woods and was unresponsive. Houlton Ambulance and other nearby first responders responded, but the man was already deceased. Tr Plaisted and Sgt. Haines investigated the crash and determined the following. 60-year old Jeffrey Warren of Dedham was traveling North on Route 1 on his 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he lost control and the bike went down on its side sliding off the East side of the roadway into the woods. Warren came off the bike in the crash and was located a short distance from his motorcycle in a thick wooded area. A helmet was located at the crash scene but did not appear to have been worn by Warren at the time of the crash. Aroostook SO assisted at the scene.
Troop D weekly activities for time July 28th to August 4th 2019
On 7/29/19 Sgt. Madore, Tr. Porter and Tr. Barney responded to the head of the lake in China for a drunk and disorderly male. The male was intoxicated, aggressive and making inappropriate comments to people utilizing the swimming area. The man was initially aggressive towards Troopers, but they were able to defuse the situation without force or an arrest. He was warned for disorderly conduct and driven home by his mother.
On 7/30/19 Tr. Martin stopped a vehicle for the passenger not wearing a seatbelt. It was discovered that the operator, Daniel Gilbert’s (48) driver’s license was suspended. He was summoned for operating after suspension and released.
On 7/30/19 Tr. Martin and Tr. Bureau stopped a vehicle for a loud exhaust. It was discovered that the passenger Alex Lapierre (19) was in possession of marijuana and two marijuana pipes but did not have a medical marijuana card. Lapierre was charged with two civil offenses: Possession of a Usable Amount of Marijuana and Sale/Use of Drug Paraphernalia and released from the scene. The driver Hope Warren (19) admitted to furnishing the marijuana to Lapierre. Warren was charged with Unlawful Furnishing of Schedule Drugs and released from the scene.
On 7/31/19 Sgt. Madore issued Joshua Goulette (33) of New Sharon a USAC for criminal speed 103/70 on Interstate 295 at mm49 south.
On 7/31/19 Tr. Peckham stopped Jace Tillson on I-295 in Gardiner. Tillson provided a false name of Sam King. Tillson’s license was suspended at the time of the stop. He was charged accordingly and the vehicle was towed.
On 8/1/19 Tr. Bureau stopped Elisha Savoy (28) for not front license plate on School Street in Unity. Tr. Martin also responded along with Cpl. Record and K-9 Tess. K-9 Tess alerted on the vehicle, Elisha and the front passenger Tyrone Saunders (49). Saunders was found in possession of over 70 grams of crack cocaine. A vehicle search revealed prescription medication along with hypodermic needles loaded with Heroin. A crack pipe was also located in the vehicle. Savoy was charged with a suspended registration. Saunders was charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule Drugs (Class A). Additional charges are likely.
On 8/1/19 Tr. Dunn stopped a southbound erratic operation complaint on I-295 in Topsham. Numerous signs of impairment were observed and Ryan Pelletier (31) of Orrington was arrested for OUI. Pelletier’s BAC was above the legal limit.
On 8/2/19 Tr. Martin stopped a vehicle for the passenger not wearing a seatbelt. The passenger, Nathan Hawes (29) had two outstanding warrants. Hawes was taken into custody and transported to Waldo County Jail without incident.
On 8/2/19 Troopers Peckham, Dunn & Sgt. Madore responded by Gardiner Rescue’s boat to Bodge Sands Island on the Kennebec River in Pittston for a trespassing complaint. The Pittston town Selectmen & Harbor Master reported multiple people trespassing on the island which is town property. No one was located on the island upon arrival and no trespassing signs were affixed to trees.
On 8/2/19 Tr. Dunn stopped a vehicle on Main St. in Richmond for a vehicle defect while working a SPIDRE (State Police Impaired Driving Enforcement) detail. Rebecca Randall (59) of Bowdoinham was arrested for OUI and had a BAC above the legal limit.
On 8/3/19 Sgt. Madore located Andrew Truman (24) of Gardiner on Route 226 in Randolph where Troopers were looking for him for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Andrew was charged with OAS and his vehicle was taken out of service for a forced inspection.
On 07-31-19 Tpr. Hager stopped Alice Markey-Bynum (24) for speeding 88mph in a posted 70mph zone at mile 24.4 northbound in Kennebunk. A subsequent driver’s license inquiry out of Rhode Island determined that Markey-Bynum did not have an operator’s license (expired operator’s permit). Markey-Bynum was issued a criminal summons for Operating without a License and a violation summons for speeding. A passenger with an active driver’s license (R/O) took control of the vehicle and Markey-Bynum was released from the scene.
On 07-30-19 Tpr. Darcy conducted a cold stop on a vehicle northbound on the turnpike in York. Criminal indicators were observed during the traffic stop and Tpr. Wilkinson & K9 Pinny were called to the scene. K9 Pinny conducted a sniff of the vehicle and the occupants. K9 Pinny alerted to the odors of narcotics and a search was conducted. As a result, 266 grams of cocaine and 52 grams of fentanyl was located. Juan Santiago (29) of Hartford, CT and Enrique Arroyo Robles (21) of Puerto Rico were arrested and transported to the York County Jail in Alfred. Both subjects were booked on two counts of Aggravated Trafficking Schedule W Drugs. Bail was set at $15,000 each. Sgt. Pappas and Tpr. Williams assisted.
On 08-01-19 Tpr. Physic pulled over Lane Dearing for driving 78mph in a 50mph construction zone. Tpr. Physic arrested Dearing for OUI. A DRE was called in and found the driver was impaired. Tpr. Physic charged Lane with OUI.
On 08-04-19 Tpr. Physic pulled over a vehicle for erratic operation and speed. Tpr. Physic arrested Bradley Byther for OUI. Bradley took an intoxilyzer test and the result was over the legal limit. He was charged with OUI.
On 07-31-19 Tpr. Wilkinson and K9 Pinny were requested to assist Tpr. Matthew Williams, who had a vehicle stopped on the Maine Turnpike for a traffic violation. K9 Pinny conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle as well as the female operator. K9 Pinny did not indicate on either the vehicle or the operator.
On 08-01-19 Tpr. Jodell Wilkinson and K9 Pinny were requested to assist Tpr. Eric Bronson, who stopped a vehicle traveling northbound on the Maine Turnpike in York for a speeding violation. Criminal indicators were observed and K9 Pinny was requested to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle. K9 Pinny indicated on the exterior of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted, a crack pipe and other paraphernalia was located.
On 07-30-19 Tpr. Kelley summonsed Anisa Mohamed (22) of Portland for speeding after she passed his cruiser in Farmingdale going 101mph.
Cpl. Ricci Cote stopped Sean Nelsen (46) of Gray on the ME Turnpike on the southbound departing ramp at mile 63 in Gray. He was under the influence of intoxicants and had a 10-year old female passenger inside along with her mother. He was put through a battery of field sobriety tests and found to be impaired. He was arrested, and his vehicle towed. A Cumberland County Deputy assisted by transporting the two females to a residence in Gray. Nelsen was taken to the Cumberland County Jail where he was administered a Breathalyzer Test. The results were over the legal limit. He was charged with Operating Under the Influence (Class D).
Cpl. Ricci Cote stopped Pavinna McIlwain (28) of Portland on the ME Turnpike in Portland at mile 46 southbound. She was under the influence of intoxicants and put through a battery of field sobriety tests. She was found to be impaired and arrested. Her license was also under suspension for OUI. Her vehicle was towed, and she was transported to the Cumberland County Jail where she refused to submit to a Breathalyzer Test. She was charged with Operating Under the Influence (Class D).
Cpl. Ricci Cote stopped Robert True (48) of Portland on the turnpike at mile 62 southbound in Gray. His ME driver’s license was found to be suspended. He had 9 active suspensions currently in effect. His vehicle was towed, and he was charged with Operating After Suspension (Class E).
Cpl. Ricci Cote stopped Jessica Gaudette (30) of Limerick on the ME Turnpike in Gray at mile 60 southbound. She was charged with Criminal Speed (Class E) for traveling 102mph in the posted 70mph zone.
Cpl. Ricci Cote and Troopers Duda and Reaser responded to a brush fire on the side of the ME Turnpike at mile 46 southbound in South Portland by Crosby Maintenance. The fire was put out by both Portland and South Portland Fire Departments. Traffic was backed up for several miles for more than an hour while it was being tended to. The cause of the fire is unknown.
Cpl. Ricci Cote stopped Jeffrey Clark (53) of Lewiston on Washington St northbound by the entrance to the ME Turnpike. His ME License was found to be under suspension for failure to pay fines. He was charged with Operating after Suspension (Civil), Possession of a Suspended License (Civil), and his vehicle was towed.
Mr. Bosse has been located safe and sound in Scarborough. Thanks to the Silver Alert system working as it was designed, a convenience store clerk recognized Mr. Bosse's alert photograph sent to the lottery machine inside the store.
We are requesting your assistance this morning in locating 87 year old Herman Bosse of Westbrook. Mr. Bosse has been reported missing by his son and was last seen Tuesday afternoon at his physicians Office at Martin’s Point Healthcare in Falmouth however he has not returned home as expected or reached out to family. Mr. Bosse is believed to be operating a Grey Honda Accord bearing Maine plate 8759ME. Mr. Bosse has some health issues and a State wide “Silver Alert” has been issued. If anyone sees Mr. Bosse or his vehicle please contact local Law Enforcement or Detective Dan Violette at 207-854-0644 EX 1.
Maine State Police have issued a Silver Alert for Arthur N. Hill, 72, who was reported missing this morning from 222 Tracy Road in Amity since 2 p.m. on Aug. 8, 2019. Hill is described as a white man, 5’11”, 230 lbs, bald, who was last seen in a red Ford, F-150, with Florida registration KQKU93.
Hill was last seen in Belfast yesterday evening on the bridge at approximately 10:24, and stated he was going to Danforth to pick up a boat, but has not returned. Anyone who sees Hill should call 911, 207-973-3700 or 1-800-432-7381.
UPDATE: Diane Courtemanche of Skowhegan was located safe and sound at a friend’s house in Strong this morning . She had been unaccounted for since Saturday morning.
The Skowhegan Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for Diane Courtemanche, 69. She was last seen on 35 French Street in Skowhegan at 9 a.m. Saturday morning, Aug. 10, 2019. She has dementia and takes medication. She is described as a white female, 5’4”, 165 lbs., with black hair, brown eyes, wearing jeans and carrying a white pocketbook.

Trooper Keith York responded to a theft complaint in Roque Bluffs where registration plates were reported stolen from a vehicle. Investigation continues.
Trooper Blaine Silk received a complaint of burglary Township 37. A generator and tools were taken.
Trooper Travis Chapman received a complaint of theft from a motor vehicle that was parked in Blue Hill. Taken were bag of jewelry, pair of shoes, 2 pairs headphones and a flotation device.
Sergeant Jeff Ingemi summonsed Cacey Thibodeau (21) of Alabama, for Operating Without a License after a traffic stop in Marshfield revealed that her license in Alabama was currently under suspension.
Trooper Miles Carpenter arrested Judson Trott (37) of Perry for Operating a Motor Vehicle while Revoked and Violating Conditions of Release.
Trooper Gavin Endre responded to the report of a theft in Bass Harbor. Through the investigation, probable cause was built to arrest Jessica Evangelista (42) of Trenton for Theft, Violating Conditions of Release, Disorderly and Refusing to Submit to Arrest. Jessica was transported to the Hancock County Jail.
Corporal Micah Perkins responded to a criminal mischief complaint in Charlotte where a field was damaged by a vehicle. Investigation continues.
Trooper Owen Reed arrested Chelsea Curtis (28) of Surry, for Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol after assisting Trooper Caleb McGary with a traffic stop in Stonington involving two vehicles.
Trooper Keith York arrested Michael Solomon (79) of Charlotte, for Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol after receiving a traffic complaint in Pembroke. Corporal Micah Perkins assisted.
