    Trooper Caleb McGary summonsed Bradley Reed (23) of Ellsworth, for Criminal Speed and Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle after a traffic stop in Dedham.  88 in a 55 zone.


    Trooper Miles Carpenter covered a fatal crash in Pembroke on Route 214.   The operator, Michael Kilby (35) was pronounced dead at the scene.  Matthew Seeley (40) was transported to Northern Light.  Investigation continues.


    Trooper Keith York responded to a criminal mischief complaint in Whiting where a tractor in a wooded area had windows broken on it.  Investigation continues.

    Trooper Keith York arrested Harold Morey (50) of Lubec, for Operating Under the Influence of Drugs after a crash investigation in Trescott.  Trooper Travis Chapman assisted as a Drug Recognition Expert.  Washington Sheriff Office also assisted.


    Trooper Blaine Silk stopped a vehicle from Massachusetts in Holden for speeding. As a result, Jonathan Fasser (19) of North Reading, Massachusetts was summonsed for Illegal Transportation of Drugs by a Minor.




    Trooper Dana Austin received a theft report of a fishing pole in Waltham. Trooper Austin located the stolen fishing pole at a residence in Hancock. As a result of the investigation, Justin Whalen (27) of Hancock was summonsed for Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer.




    Trooper Kim Sawyer summonsed Philip E. Morse Jr (51) of Danforth for Criminal Threatening.

    Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Levesque responded to an address in Presque Isle to assist the Presque Isle Police Department with an incident.  It was reported a man was in a stairwell and was trying to break into a residence.  Tr. Levesque and a Deputy from the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department responded to the address.  When Tr. Levesque and the Deputy arrived the confronted the man and he became uncooperative and belligerent. The man was arrested and taken to PIPD.  The man was combative so Border Patrol was contacted and agreed to transport the man to the Aroostook County Jail in their cruiser’s prisoner transport vehicle.

     Brief Synopsis:      Tr. Martin attempted to stop a vehicle in Fort Kent for a traffic infraction.  The vehicle fled and Tr. Martin lost sight due to dust.  Through an investigation, Tr. Martin was able to determine the driver and located the vehicle.  The man was issued a criminal summons for eluding a police officer and expired registration (criminal).

     Brief Synopsis:      Tr. Martin stopped a vehicle in Frenchville for a traffic infraction.  During the stop, Tr. Martin discovered the operator’s Maine driver’s license had expired in 2017.  Tr. Martin issued the woman a criminal summons for the violation and helped her make arrangements for a licensed driver to come get her and her vehicle.

    Brief Synopsis:       Tr Pescitelli was patrolling in Mapleton and made a traffic stop.  The male operator was found to be under suspension for failing to pay fines.  Tr Pescitelli summonsed him for OAS.

    Brief Synopsis:       Tr Pescitelli was patrolling Rt. 10 and made a traffic stop.  The female operator was found to be operating under suspension.  Tr Pescitelli summonsed her for the violation.

    Brief Synopsis:       Tr Bell was parked in New Limerick when he observed a vehicle pass him.  Tr Bell knew the operator and suspected that he was under suspension. Tr Bell had dispatch run the registration and found that the operator was under suspension and had an active arrest warrant.  Tr Bell stopped the vehicle and arrested the male on the warrant and summonsed him for OAS.

    Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Curtin was called to a vandalism complaint in Eagle Lake.  The owner of the storage units reported damage to one of the unit doors.  Several juveniles were seen in the area and one was known to the property owner.  Tr. Curtin spoke to one of the juvenile suspects and he denied any involvement.  The case remains under investigation.

    Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Curtin was called to assist PIPD in locating the suspect in a domestic violence incident that occurred in PI.  Tr. Curtin checked several locations in Eagle Lake and the surrounding area and eventually located the male.  Tr. Curtin arrested the man and transported him to PIPD.


  • Troop G Weekly Report (April 29 to May 5)

    Cpl. Cloutier responded to a single vehicle crash at the start of the construction zone northbound after Exit 46 in Portland.  A Chevy SUV had collided into the jersey barriers, causing the vehicle to flip on its side and blocking both lanes northbound.  The driver, John Downing (49) of Cumberland, was not injured but was intoxicated.  Downing was processed for OUI at Scarborough PD.  Downing’s BAC was over the legal limit.

    Trp. Keim stopped Sabryna Montminy (22) of Auburn for driving 104 mph in a posted 70 mph zone.  Montminy said that she did not realize she was going that fast.  After further investigation, Trp. Keim found that a week prior on I-295, Trp. Flanagan had a complaint on Montminy for driving aggressively and at high speed.  Trp. Flanagan had stopped Montminy driving 96 mph in a 65 mph zone and charged her with criminal speed.  Montminy was charged with criminal speed by Trp. Keim as well.

    Cpl. Cloutier stopped Stephen Hanson (43) of New Gloucester for erratic operation on the turnpike in Biddeford.  Hanson’s license status was suspended for failing to pay child support. Hanson was charged with operating after suspension and his vehicle was towed.   

    On 04-29-19 Tpr. Darcy charged Kevin Switzer (31) of Cumberland with Operating after Revocation as the result of a traffic stop southbound on the turnpike in Saco.

    On 04-29-19 Tpr. Darcy charged Michael Landry (31) of Biddeford with Operating without a License as the result of a traffic stop on Hill St. in Biddeford.

    On 04-30-19 Tpr. Darcy arrested Joseph Mahoney (32) of Portland/Manchester, NH on an active warrant out of New Hampshire as the result of a traffic stop northbound on the turnpike in York. The warrant was for failure to appear on a fentanyl possession charge.  Joseph was transported to the York County Jail in Alfred where he was booked on a Fugitive from Justice charge.  Tpr. Williams assisted. 

    On 05-03-19 Tpr. Darcy charged Christopher Schmidt (29) of Saco with Operating with a Suspension Registration as the result of a traffic stop off exit 42 in Scarborough.  The registration was suspended for tolls. 

    On 05-01-19 Tpr. Loder stopped a vehicle northbound for displaying an expired (& homemade) temporary registration plate on the turnpike in Wells.  He realized that criminal activity was taking place and contacted Tpr. Darcy and Tpr. Wilkinson to assist. Interviews were conducted and K9 Pinny indicated on several occupants and the vehicle.  As a result of searches of the vehicle and the occupants, 60 grams of heroin and 41 grams of crack cocaine was seized.  Saul Figuereo-Frias (21) of the Bronx, NY was charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs, Hilary Chavez (19) of the Bronx, NY was charged with Unlawful Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs and Brittany Seeley (30) of Eastport, ME was charged with Unlawful Possession of Schedule W Drugs. 

    On 05-05-19 Tpr. Loder stopped a blue Volkswagen Cabriolet northbound at the Wells / Kennebunk line for a defective headlight.  After discovering the 17-year-old female operator had a warrant for failing to appear on a traffic offense, Tpr. Loder arranged to have the girl’s mother and a bail commissioner meet at the Kennebunk Service Plaza.  After posting bail, the operator was released into the custody of her mother.

    On 05-04-19 Tpr. Kelley stopped Travis Dan (20) of Minot for speeding in Gray for speeding 105 mph in a 70 mph zone.  The operator was running late getting to a prom.  He was summonsed for speed.

    On 05-02-19 Tpr. Loder responded to a crash in Kennebunk on the turnpike.  A single vehicle skidded off the wet highway, rolled over and hit a tree.  The driver, Lauren Burrell (18); her mother, Regina Burrell-Krause (46) and Mark Cenci (64) all from North Yarmouth were injured in the crash.  All three were taken to Portsmouth, NH Hospital and Cenci suffered a serious head injury.

  • Massachusetts man facing felony charges for drug trafficking

    Drugs and firearm seized at the traffic stop.

    OGUNQUIT, Maine - A Massachusetts man is facing felony charges after being stopped by the Maine State Police for motor vehicle violations.

    On May 7, 2019 at approximately 9 PM, a Troop G Trooper, who is also a member of the PACE Team, stopped a vehicle on the Maine turnpike in Ogunquit for several motor vehicle violations. The roadside investigation led to a search of the vehicle. More Troop G Troopers and PACE Team members responded to assist. As a result of the search, 12 grams of fentanyl, $10,600 cash, and a loaded 9 mm handgun was located and seized.

    The driver, Sean Anderson (38) of Lynn, MA, is a convicted felon who is on probation in Massachusetts for an armed robbery and home invasion. Sean is prohibited from possessing firearms. Sean was arrested and transported to the York County Jail in Alfred where he was booked for Class A Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs and Class C Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person. Bail was set at $15,000. The charge of criminal speed was requested to be added as well. 


    Maine State Police say the deaths of  a  man and woman found inside their Lebanon home this afternoon are being investigated as an apparent murder suicide.  

    30-year-old Allison Parker was shot to death by her estranged boyfriend,  27-year-old Thomas Doyon, who then shot himself. Police said it was a case of domestic violence. The shootings took place inside a home on Bigelow Road, which the couple shared with the victim's parents. Detectives said the couple recently ended their relationship and

    Allison was at the home to retrieve her belongings, as she had recently moved out.  Allison had come to the home with a girlfriend and her parents were also in the home when they heard gunshots from an upstairs bedroom.  The three fled the house and called State Police.  Troopers , assisted by the State Police tactical team, responded  to the house and about 3:45 members of the team entered the house and found the two bodies.   The couple had been together for about 3 years. Autopsies will take place Sunday at the State Medical Examiners Office in Augusta. Allison was the mother of a seven year old daughter, but Doyon was not the father.

    Maine State Police say the northbound lanes on I-95 in Augusta have been closed following a two vehicle fatal crash at mile 111.  Troopers said a vehicle going in the wrong direction struck another in the northbound lane.  One person has been killed and a second person has been seriously injured.  The head on crash is between the Western Ave.  and Civic Center Drive exits in Augusta and northbound traffic is being detoured at Western Ave .   A team of troopers, assisted by Augusta Police and the Kennebec Sheriff's Office is diverting traffic  and invesigating the crash.

    Trooper Owen Reed summonsed David Lawry (37) of Orland, for Operating After Revocation after a traffic stop in Castine.


    Trooper Caleb McGary summonsed Kayla Black (25) of Lincoln for Possession of Heroin after a traffic stop in Dedham.  Sergeant Barry Meserve and his K-9 assisted along with Trooper Taylor Bagley.

    Trooper Owen Reed responded to a late report crash in Brooksville where Robert Gallway (75) was summonsed for Failure to Report a Crash by quickest means.  Hancock Sheriff Office assisted.



    Trooper David Barnard responded to a single vehicle roll over crash on Route 1 in Brookton. The owner of the vehicle, Jared Patane (29) of Machias was summonsed for attaching false plates.

    Brief Synopsis:       Cpl. Quint responded to a single vehicle crash in Amity.  A vehicle driving south on US Highway 1 had struck a moose and a 13-year-old passenger in the vehicle was injured.  The boy and his mother had been driving home from Houlton when the moose came into the roadway.  The head of the animal came through the windshield and the glass cut the boy’s face.  He was transported to Houlton Regional Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

     Brief Synopsis:      Sgt. Clark and Tr. Duff responded to a report of a vehicle driving south on Interstate 95 in the north bound lanes.  Tr. Duff located the vehicle and attempted to stop it, however, the driver sped up and was driving more erratic.  Troopers from Troop E closed the interstate in the Medway area to eliminate some traffic coming into the path of the vehicle.  An investigation led Troopers to Nashville Plantation where the driver ran out of fuel.  The man was telling his family that he had a gun and would fire on any law enforcement that approached him.  Several Troopers assisted Tr. Duff with arresting the man for driving to endanger, eluding a police officer, OUI, and other charges.  The man was eventually transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.  The man was heard by a third person stating he was going to commit suicide by driving head on into the first vehicle he came across.  Miraculously, no one was injured during this incident.

     Brief Synopsis:      Tr. Kilcollins was transporting a man to jail when a pickup almost hit him head on.  Tr. Kilcollins notified Sgt. Clark, who was in the immediate area, and Sgt. Clark located the vehicle.  After an investigation, it was discovered the man was driving an unregistered motor vehicle and his license was revoked.  Sgt. Clark issued the man a criminal summons for operating after revocation, operating an unregistered vehicle, and a traffic summons for not having insurance.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

     Brief Synopsis:      Tr. Martin had information from another Trooper about a man that is currently driving in Caribou and was suspended.  Tr. Martin observed the described man and stopped him in the parking lot of the courthouse.  The man admitted to Tr. Martin he did not have a valid driver’s license.  Further investigation the man was in possession of methamphetamines, had current bail conditions, and had attached a fraudulent inspection sticker to his vehicle.  Tr. Martin arrested the man for being in violation of his bail, drug charges, and for displaying a fictitious inspection certificate.

    Brief Synopsis:       Tr Pescitelli and Tr Adams were conducting traffic enforcement on Rt. 11 in Masardis.  Tr Pescitelli stopped a vehicle and found the operator had an active warrant for failing to appear in court and was also under suspension.  Tr Adams arrested the female and transported her to Ashland PD where she made bail.

    Brief Synopsis:       Tr Adams and Tr Saucier responded to a motor vehicle crash that occurred in Orient.  A caller reported that the vehicle had passed them at a high rate of speed just prior to the crash.  Investigation would show that the male operator was intoxicated at the time of the crash. Tr Adams arrested the male for OUI.

    Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Casavant was working patrol and had occasion to stop a man from Mapleton.  A registration check showed the plate was illegally attached.  The mans license was revoked and he was also charged for no proof of insurance.

    Brief Synopsis:       Sgt. Haines was on patrol monitoring traffic in Mars Hill when he had occasion to stop a car for no headlights after sunset.  The male operator was under the influence of alcohol and arrested.  The test result was twice the legal limit and the Mars Hill man was charged for OUI and Operating without a license and taken to the ACJ.

    Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Curtin was on patrol in Fort Kent when he had occasion to stop a Fort Kent man for an inspection violation.  As a result Tr. Curtin charged him for expired registration over 150 days.  Later in the evening Tr. Curtin had occasion to stop a St Francis man in Wallagrass for speeding and charged him with OAS.

    Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Levesque and Sgt. Haines were called to Orient for an assault complaint.  The original caller said he was confronted by a man in the roadway and threatened so he punched the man.  The second caller found the first man lying in the roadway with head injuries.  Investigation showed Troopers and the ambulance had been to the residence 10 days prior for a similar incident, but the male victim didn’t want to press charges.  The man was issued a trespass warning during that initial incident.  The injured man was transported to Houlton Regional Hospital via ambulance and later transferred to Northern Light Health in PI for admission.  The man was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and assault.  The investigation is ongoing.

     Brief Synopsis:      Tr. Cotton was conducting traffic enforcement in Smyrna and observed a vehicle with an expired inspection certificate.  Tr. Cotton stopped the vehicle and during the course of the stop discovered the male driver had a suspended Maine driver’s license.  The man said he paid the fine for a summons he was previously issued but eventually realized he did not pay the reinstatement fee.  Tr. Cotton issued the man a traffic summons for Operating After Suspension and helped him arrange to have a licensed driver come get him and his teenage daughter.

    Troop F – Tr. Caleb Adams responded to a tractor trailer crash on I95 northbound in Island Falls.  Geary Bonville, age 37 of Presque Isle was traveling northbound in his 1986 Peterbilt truck and trailer and lost control, striking several sections of guardrail and then traveling off the roadway into a stand of trees.  Bonville was not injured and his Peterbilt sustained significant damage and was towed from the scene by Westerdahls Towing Service.  Tr. Adams was assisted by Tr. Stetson and Tr. Flynn of our Commercial Vehicle Unit, personnel from Maine DEP also responded to the scene for fuel that had leaked into a waterway.

    Trooper Kim Sawyer summonsed Shawn Eric McCormack (48) of Princeton for Operating After Suspension and Operating without a License after recognizing him and his vehicle traveling on Rte. 1, Princeton.



    Trooper Gavin Endre responded to the report of a head on two-vehicle crash on Route 1 in Hancock. Through the investigation, it was determined that the operator of one of the vehicles Joseph Ryan (93) of Hancock crossed the center line and struck an SUV head on. Inside the SUV was Michel Taccyl (53) of Florida and Noel Antenord (56) of Florida. Both occupants within the SUV survived with few injuries. Mr. Ryan was pronounced dead at the Northern Light Maine Coast Memorial Hospital.



    Trooper Blaine Silk and Trooper Kimberly Sawyer responded to a residence in Addison where it was reported Jayson Richards (51) of Addison was damaging a vehicle on the property. When Trooper Silk arrived, RICHARD’s was still combative. RICHARD’s was arrested for Refusing to Submit to Detention and Criminal Mischief.




    Sergeant Timothy Varney summonsed Paula Johnson (50) of Pembroke for Operating After Suspension as a result of a traffic stop on Rt. 9 in Amherst.




    Trooper David Barnard responded to a theft complaint in Perry. Brian Bowen (39) of Perry was summonsed for Criminal Trespass.  


    Trooper Owen Reed arrested Thomas Bassler (67) of Brooklin, for Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol after an investigation in Blue Hill. 

    Trooper Keith York summonsed Karen Simpson (52) of Calais, for Possession of Scheduled Drugs after an investigation and consent search in Cathance Township.  Sergeant Jeff Ingemi assisted.


    Corporal Micah Perkins summonsed Jared Foster (25) of Danforth, for Criminal Trespass in reference to an investigation earlier in May in Danforth where a seasonal residence had been entered in Danforth.

    Trooper Keith York summonsed Jared Foster (25) of Danforth, for Burglary in reference to an investigation in November where a seasonal residence had been broken into in Danforth.
