MaineDOT to Continue Safety Improvements along I-295 in Freeport

Freeport ? Starting Monday, October 5th, 2015, crews will begin the final phase of the brush and tree clearing, in preparation for seeding, along the interstate corridor in Freeport. This phase will consist of the grinding of stumps below grade and the removal of the remaining debris, leaving a smooth surface suitable for seeding. The work will occur just south of the Exit 22 and extend north for approximately 4 miles. It will result in temporary shoulder and ramp closures, and all work will occur between 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

I-95 Lane Closures in Pittsfield

Pittsfield ? Beginning Monday, October 5th, there will be an extended lane closure of the southbound lanes on I-95 in Pittsfield; crews will be working on a bridge repair project. The lane closures will remain in place through to mid-November. This closure will have width restrictions of 12'. The length of the closure will be 1000'+/-.

All over width loads will need to exit at Exit 150 Southbound. They will be able to re-enter the Interstate at the bottom of the ramp by crossing Somerset Avenue in Pittsfield.

Hollis - Route 35 Road Closure/Detour

Hollis ? On Wednesday, October 14, 2015 a portion of Route 35 in Hollis will be closed to all through traffic for a culvert replacement project.

MaineDOT Region 1 maintenance crews will be replacing an 18? diameter culvert approximately 1/10 mile south of the junction with Plains Rd, which is approximately 5 miles north of the junction with Route 117 in Hollis Center.

Motorists will need to be detoured for this project. The signed detour will utilize Plains Rd and Route 117 (Cape Rd). It is anticipated all work will be completed by 3:00pm, October 14.

Route 1 Bath/Brunswick Lane Closures

Bath/Brunswick ? On Monday, October 19, 2015, bridge work will begin on the Route 1 on the northbound and southbound sides of the bridge passes spanning the New Meadows River and at the Route 1 southbound on/off ramp bridge pass at Cook?s Corner.

Motorists should expect daily lane closures on Route 1 between the New Meadows exist and Cook?s Corner exit between the hours of 6am ? 6pm, Monday through Saturday. The lane closures will continue through completion of the project in mid-November.

Ramp Closures on I-95 in Bangor

Bangor ? Starting Monday, October 26th, 2015, crews will be performing night-time electrical work on the lights located at Exit 182 on I-95. The work will be performed between the hours of 8:00 pm and 2:00 am and will necessitate full closures of both Exit 182A and 182B, at alternating times. The work is expected to occur through Wednesday.

Trained electrical crews will be replacing the existing fixtures with Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting. LED lighting is more energy efficient than traditional incandescent lighting, resulting in significant long-term savings.

Fairfield I-95 Northbound Lane Closures Tonight

Fairfield ? Due to the heavy rains and deteriorating surface pavement, crews will be performing patch repair on several large potholes that have opened up in the northbound travel lane on I-95 over the Route 201 bridge in Fairfield.

Maine State Police will be onsite to block the northbound interstate beginning at 9:00 p.m. for several ten minute closures. After each closure, the troopers will reopen the northbound lanes and allow traffic to clear before closing it again until all repairs are complete.

The only release today that was relevant was this morning's notice of the Casco Bay Bridge inspection to begin this Sunday, November 8th.

Casco Bay Bridge Inspection to Begin

Portland ? Beginning on Sunday, November 8th, crews will be performing a routine inspection of the Casco Bay Bridge linking Portland and South Portland.

This activity will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with weekend hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

One lane of traffic will remain open as the inspection takes place on the northbound and southbound sides respectively.

There will be on on-site detour to help guide bicyclists and pedestrians through the work zones.

All work will be completed on Sunday, November 15th.

MAINE, NEW HAMPSHIRE & VERMONT JOIN "WAZE"

AUGUSTA, Maine; CONCORD, N.H.; MONTPELIER, Vt. (October 30, 2015) ? The MaineDOT, New Hampshire DOT and Vermont Agency of Transportation (called Tri-State) today announced a unique data-sharing partnership with Waze (http://www.waze.com), the free crowdsourced navigation app that uses information from drivers to outsmart traffic in real-time. Tri-State and Waze will share their traffic data with each other to enhance each partner?s ability to provide needed traffic information to the traveling public.
