Culvert Replacement to Begin in Waldoboro

Waldoboro ? Crews will be replacing a deteriorated culvert on Route 32 in Waldoboro beginning on Tuesday, June 16th.

The project is located just southeast of the Hannaford Supermarket, approximately 1000ft. south of the intersection of Route 1 and Route 32.

Northbound traffic will be detoured onto Main Street to Route 1 to Route 32.

Southbound traffic will be detoured to Jefferson Street to Main Street to Route 32.

Weather permitting, it is anticipated all work will be completed by Wednesday, June 17th.

South Bristol Gut Bridge Project Suspended as Scheduled

South Bristol ? The South Bristol Gut Bridge project has been suspended as scheduled until mid-September, 2015.

The temporary traffic lights and one lane of alternating traffic within the project limits were removed today (Wednesday, June 17). While it is currently back to a two lane traffic pattern, there is a temporary barrier and an unpaved roadway as this area is still a construction zone. Motorists should remain cautious and adhere to the posted 15mph speed limit.

Paving Project to Begin in Caribou

Caribou ? A paving project will begin through the towns of Caribou, Woodland and New Sweden beginning on Monday, June 22nd.

The project begins 0.06 of a mile north of the Woodland Center Road on Route 161B and extends northwesterly for 1.56 miles. The project continues northwesterly on Route 161 for an additional 6.16 miles, ending 0.92 of a mile north of the New Sweden/Woodland town line.

Paving to Begin in Western Region

Harmony ? Beginning on Wednesday, June 24th, crews will be paving in the towns of Harmony, Cambridge, Parkman, Ripley and Wellington.

In Harmony on Route 150, the project begins .081 of a mile northeasterly of Highland Avenue and extends northeasterly for 15.09 miles to 0.25 of a mile northeasterly of McPhetres Road in Parkman. On Main Street, the paving will begin at Route 150 and extend southerly for 0.38 of a mile to the intersection of Route 154.

Work to Start Up on Western Avenue in Augusta

Augusta ? Beginning Sunday night, June 28th, work will commence on Western Avenue in Augusta from Edison Drive to the west side roundabout. Crews will be installing signs and catch basins as well as lowering manhole covers and other prep work.

On July 6th, milling of the pavement on Western Avenue will begin with paving and utility adjustments to follow. Motorists should expect slight delays when traveling through the area.

Governor Signs Critical Transportation Bond Bill to Improve Infrastructure and Create Jobs

AUGUSTA ? Governor Paul R. LePage signed into law LD 1415, An Act To Authorize Two General Fund Bond Issues To Improve Highways, Bridges and Multimodal Facilities, which authorizes an $85 million bond package for transportation projects that will improve infrastructure, promote economic development and create jobs in the State of Maine.

The Governor signed the bond bill on Wednesday, July 1, and voters will consider approving the measure in November.
