Paving to Begin in Smithfield

Smithfield ? Crews will be paving and installing new drainage as well as performing safety improvements in the towns of Smithfield, Farmington, New Sharon, Mercer and Norridgewock beginning on Monday, May 11th.

The project will start on Route 8 in Smithfield beginning 0.21 of a mile north of Rome Road and extend northerly for 1.79 miles to 1.18 miles north of Pine Tree Road.

On Route 2 the project begins 0.39 of a mile northeasterly of the Mercer-Norridgewock town line and extend 3.48 miles northeasterly.

Paving to Begin on Route 202 in Alfred, Lyman and Waterboro

Alfred ? Crews will be paving on Route 202 in Alfred, Lyman and Waterboro beginning on Monday, May 11th.

The paving project begins on Route 202 approximately 0.08 of a mile north of Oak Street, proceeding easterly for 7.34 miles to the junction of Route 5.

At times there will be alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers. Motorists should expect minor delays when traveling through the work zones.

Highway Reconstruction Project Resumes in Wallagrass/Eagle Lake

Wallagrass ? Crews will be performing a highway reconstruction project on Route 11 Aroostook County beginning on Monday, May 11th.

The project location is on Route 11 beginning 0.05 of a mile north of the Eagle Lake/Wallagrass town line and extends northerly for 3.12 miles.

Motorists will be guided through alternating one-way traffic through the work zones controlled by flaggers. Minor delays are expected.

The work includes road reconstruction, drainage and box culvert installations, guardrail replacements and other incidental work.

Paving to Begin in Naples

Naples ? Crews will be back this season paving an approximate ten mile stretch of road through the towns of Naples, Casco and Poland beginning on Monday, May 18th.

The paving project will begin at the intersection of Routes 302 and 11 in Naples. Traffic will be reduced to one lane assisted by flaggers. Motorists should expect slight delays through the work zones.

The project ends at the intersection of White Oak Hill Road and Route 11 in Poland.

It is anticipated all work will be completed by the end of June, 2015.

Paving to Start in Bingham

Bingham ? Crews will be paving on Route 201 in the Forks Plantation and in the town of Bingham starting on Monday, May 18th.

Crews will pave the first section on Route 201 beginning 1.26 miles northerly of the Caratunk town line and extend northerly for 4.95 miles.

In Bingham, the paving project will start on Route 201 beginning 0.17 of a mile northerly of Tanglewood Drive and extend northerly for 4.90 miles.

Motorists should expect slight delays with alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers.

Paving to Begin in Monticello

Monticello ? Crews will be paving in the towns of Monticello, Bridgewater and Blaine beginning on Friday, May 15th.

The paving project will begin approximately 300ft. south of the Fullerton Road in Monticello and extend northerly for 8.78 miles, ending .08 of a mile north of the Griffin Road in Blaine.

Alternating one-way traffic will be controlled by flaggers. Motorists should expect delays of up to five minutes with multiple closures possible throughout the project area. All work will be performed Monday through Friday with the occasional Saturday.

Paving Project to Begin on the Winter Street Bridge in Sanford

Sanford ? Crews will be milling and paving the Winter Street Bridge on Route 202 in Sanford beginning on Tuesday, May 19th.

During the paving project, the bridge will be reduced to one lane and allow for eastbound traffic coming from the intersection of Routes 109 and 202 only. Westbound traffic will be detoured onto River Street which turns into Washington Street then onto Main Street. The exception will be heavy trucks which, with police assistance, will continue straight onto Winter Street as normal.

Route 1 Improvement Project in Ogunquit Breaks for the Summer

Ogunquit, Maine (May 19, 2015): The Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) began a $13.5 million dollar project to reconstruct Route 1 in Ogunquit and build two new bridges over the Ogunquit and Josias Rivers in early March 2015. Due to the heavy tourism economy of the area, road construction will be suspended during the upcoming Memorial Day weekend, and again from June 21st through Labor Day. Though work on the two new bridges will continue, temporary bridges will be sure to keep traffic moving.

Bridge Replacement Project to Start in Auburn

Auburn ? Crews will be replacing parts of the Auburn-Oakdale Bridge on Route 202 in Auburn beginning on Wednesday, May 20th.

As the bridge deck and beams are being replaced to make for a wider structure, motorists will encounter a change in the traffic pattern.

Traffic heading south on Washington Street out of Auburn will be detoured over Washington Street northbound at Philomar Street and routed back to Washington Street southbound by way of Chasse Street. Slight delays are expected.

Businesses in the vicinity of the bridge will remain open and accessible.
