Full Reconstruction of Route 1 in Warren to Begin

Warren ? Crews will be reconstructing a section of Route 1 in Warren beginning the week of June 23rd.

The project begins .25 miles south of Sandy Shore Road and extends northerly for 1.52 miles encompassing the Route 97 intersection to just beyond Route 1.

There will be alternating one-way traffic through most of this project. The work includes full reconstruction, new eight foot shoulders, new drainage and curbs as well as blasting some ledge along with new pavement.

Bangor I-95 Union Street Bridge Overnight Work Schedule

Bangor ? Crews will be working on Interstate 95 during the overnight hours on the Union Street Bridge project in Bangor. This work involves closing one lane of traffic on the interstate to allow for construction to take place safely between the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The current schedule for the week is as follows:

Monday, June 23rd: southbound travel lane closed followed by the southbound passing lane

Tuesday, June 24th: southbound travel lane followed by the southbound passing lane

Wednesday, June 25th: northbound passing lane closed

Railroad Crossing Rehab in Orrington

Orrington ? Crews from MaineDOT and Pan Am will be rehabilitating the railroad crossing on Route 15 (River Road) in Orrington beginning on Wednesday, June 25th.

The project begins 1.5 miles north of Center Drive on the River Road. Motorists should expect delays as flaggers will be on site.

The work includes removing the pavement 5ft. away from the rails. In all, new pavement will be put down approximately 50ft. back from the rails on each side to provide a smoother crossing.

It is anticipated all work will be completed on Tuesday, July 1st.

Bangor I-95 Union Street Bridge Overnight Work Schedule

Bangor ? Crews will be working on Interstate 95 during the overnight hours on the Union Street Bridge in Bangor. This work involves closing one lane of traffic on the interstate to allow for construction to take place safely between the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The current schedule for the week is as follows:

Monday, June 30th: Full interstate closure northbound from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Tuesday, July 1st: Full interstate closure southbound from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Wednesday, July 2nd: Northbound travel lane closed

Minor Delays Expected at Gorham Roundabout on Tuesday, July 1st

Gorham ? On Tuesday, July 1, crews from Clean Harbors, Inc. will be performing work to determine the extent of contamination from the June 11th oil spill at the South Street roundabout.

Due to the northbound side of the roundabout being closed, motorists will be detoured around the work area. Traffic coming from Gorham Center will be detoured west to Route 112 north (Gorham Bypass). Traffic originating south of Gorham Center will be routed to Day Road then to Bracket Road to Saco Street and onto Route 22.

Statewide Construction to Cease Due to Holiday

Augusta ? With the July 4th holiday approaching, paving operations and major bridge work in the more heavily congested areas of the state will cease operations by noon on July 3rd.

Crews will be out of the roads with no lane restrictions from noon on July 3rd through the weekend in anticipation of heavier than normal traffic due to the holiday.

MaineDOT encourages everyone to drive safely and enjoy the July 4th weekend.

Paving to Start in Naples, Casco and Poland

Naples/Casco/Poland ? Beginning on Monday, July 7th, crews will be paving 10.44 miles of Route 11 in Naples, Casco and into Poland.

The project begins at the intersection of Route 302 in Naples and extends to the White Oak Hill Road in Poland. Motorists should allow extra time as flaggers assist with alternating one-way traffic through the work zones.

While weather dependent, it is anticipated all work will be completed by mid-October.

Lane Construction of Connecticut will perform this $3.6 million dollar project.

Overnight Paving on I-195 in Saco

Saco ? Crews will milling and paving the length of I-195 in Saco during the overnight hours of 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning on Monday, July 7th.

Both sides of I-195 will be paved beginning 0.07 miles west of Industrial Park Road and extend 1.93 miles east. In addition to milling and paving the road, crews will perform guard rail safety improvements.

Motorists should use caution on uneven pavement and pay attention to reduced speeds in the work zone.

It is anticipated all work will be completed by mid-September.
