Mackworth Island Bridge Weight Restriction

Falmouth ? The Mackworth Island Bridge over Casco Bay in Falmouth will have a posted weight limit of 10 tons beginning on Thursday, August 31st.

Access to the Mackworth Island trails public parking lot for light-vehicle traffic is not affected by the 10 ton weight restriction. However, as a reminder, there is no parking allowed on the causeway or the Mackworth Island Bridge. Vehicles parked on the causeway or the bridge will be towed at the owner?s expense.

New Clair-Fort Kent International Bridge Officially Opened

CLAIR (GNB) ?Officials from both sides of the New Brunswick/Maine border today celebrated the official opening of the $13.9 million Clair-Fort Kent International Bridge.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony also marked the partnership in building and funding the bridge between the province?s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure and Maine?s Department of Transportation.

Paving Project to Begin on Route 115 in Yarmouth

Yarmouth ? Beginning on Friday, August 1st, crews will perform a paving project on Route 115 in Yarmouth.

The work zone will be from the Yarmouth town line extending approximately one-half mile to Rainbow Farm Road. Motorists should allow extra time with the alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers.

While weather dependent, it is anticipated all work will be completed by September 6th.

Paving Resumes in South Portland

South Portland ? Crews will finish paving various locations in South Portland on Friday, August 1st.

The first location will be on Market Street from Waterman Drive to Ocean Street beginning at 5:00 a.m.

Crews will then move the paving operations to Cottage Road from Hinkley Street to Highland Avenue.

If time permits, paving will continue on Stanford Street from Henley Street to Broadway. If needed, this paving operation will instead be on Saturday morning, August 2nd beginning at 7:00 a.m.

Bangor I-95 Union Street Bridge Overnight Work Schedule

Bangor ? Crews are working on Interstate 95 during the overnight hours on the Union Street Bridge project in Bangor. This work involves closing one lane of traffic on the interstate to allow for construction to take place safely between the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The current schedule for the week is as follows:

Monday, August 4th ? The northbound travel lane will be closed

Tuesday, August 5th ? The northbound travel lane will be closed

Wednesday, August 6th ? The northbound travel lane will be closed

Three Day Inspection of the Androscoggin River Bridge in Peru-Mexico

Peru/Mexico ? Starting on Monday, August 4th, crews will be inspecting the Androscoggin River Bridge on North Main Street that links the towns of Peru and Mexico.

There will be one lane of alternating one-way traffic for passenger vehicles only. No heavy trucks will be allowed over the bridge during the inspection hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Currently, the bridge is posted at 25 tons.

The inspection will take place from Monday, August 4th to Wednesday, August 7th.

This inspection is part of a federal bi-annual inspection program to ensure the safety of the bridge.

Overnight Repairs on the Bridge Street Bridge in Gardiner

Gardiner ? Beginning on Monday, August 4th, crews will be working on the Bridge Street Bridge (near the intersection of Water Street and Bridge Street in Gardiner) from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Motorists should allow extra time traveling through the work zone with alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers. Work involves joint repair at each end of the bridge.

It is anticipated all work will be completed on Friday, August 8th.

Culvert Replacement Project in Greene

Greene ? Crews will be performing a culvert replacement project on the Allen Pond Road in Greene beginning on Monday, August 4th.

Allen Pond Road will be closed approximately five miles north of the Route 202 intersection. Motorists will follow the detour route from Allen Pond Road to Addition Road to North Line Road to Church Hill Road then back to Allen Park Road.

While weather dependent, it is anticipated all work will be completed by Wednesday, August 6th.

Culvert Replacement Project to Begin in Newcastle

Newcastle ? Beginning on Tuesday, August 5th crews will be replacing a failing culvert on Route 213 in Newcastle.

Route 213 will be closed approximately 1.3 miles from the intersection of Route 213 and Route 215. The fourteen mile detour route will take motorists from Route 215 to Route 126 to Route 213.

It is anticipated all work will be completed by the end of the day on Thursday, August 7th.

This $30,000 culvert replacement project will be performed by N.F. Luce, Inc. of Anson
