Augusta Western Avenue Overpass to be Repaired

Augusta ? Joint repair and wearing surface work will begin in Augusta on the Western Avenue overpass over I-95 in the evening and overnight hours beginning on Sunday, August 17th.

The work will be at the intersection of Whitten Road and Western Avenue, with traffic being shifted to one lane each night through Friday, August 22nd.

The project hours will be from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Motorists should expect minor delays through the area.

Crashes on I-295 in Portland

Portland ? Minor crashes have slowed traffic on I-295 in Portland in both the north and southbound lanes.

Northbound, crashes have occurred between mile 5 and 6 (Forest Avenue area)

Southbound, crashes have occurred near mile 3 (Fore River area)

All lanes remain open.

Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through the area and allow for extra time.

Bridge Concrete Repair Work on Route 1 in Freeport

Yarmouth ? Concrete repair work will take place Wednesday, August 20th on Route 1 in Yarmouth on the bridge spanning the Muddy River. (In close proximity to the Muddy Rudder Restaurant).

The repairs will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with temporary traffic lights assisting in alternating one-way traffic over this bridge.

Motorists are advised of delays during these repairs and should plan ahead or seek an alternate route.

Paving Project to Begin on Route 26 in Oxford

Oxford ? Crews will be paving approximately 1.9 miles of Route 26 in Oxford beginning on Wednesday, August 20th.

The paving begins at the Record Building Supply Company extending to the Skeetfield Road. Motorists should expect delays with alternating one-way traffic assisted by flaggers.

While weather dependent, it is anticipated all work will be completed on Thursday, August 21st.

Pike Industries of Fairfield will perform this $120,000 paving project.

Railroad Reconstruction to Begin in Veazie

Veazie ? Crews from MaineDOT and Pan Am Railways will be reconstructing the rail crossing on School Street in Veazie beginning Thursday, August 21st.

School Street will be closed from August 21st through August 26th. Motorists will be detoured approximately one-half mile from State Street (Route 2) to Olive Street to Oak Grove Street then back onto School Street.

It is anticipated all work will be completed by the end of the day on Tuesday, August 26th.

Nighttime I-195 Off-Ramps to Close This Week

Saco ? As the paving and milling project continues on I-195 in Saco, nighttime ramp closures are scheduled for Thursday, August 21st and Friday, August 22nd. The schedule is as follows:

Thursday, August 21st:

Exit 1 westbound on-ramp will be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Exit 1 eastbound off-ramp will be closed from 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

Exit 1 eastbound on-ramp will be closed from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Friday, August 22nd:

Exit 1 eastbound on-ramp will be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Martin?s Point Bridge Work To Cause Delays Monday

PORTLAND ? CPM Constructors will be placing guardrail and continue work on the northern fishing/viewing bump out on the new Martin?s Point Bridge on Monday, August 25 from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.

This will restrict traffic to one alternating lane for that portion of the day. Travelers who want to avoid potential delays should find an alternate route on Monday morning.

The project, including full demolition and final landscaping, will be completed by the end of 2014.

Route 173 in Lincolnville to Close for 28 Days

Lincolnville ? Part of Route 173 in Lincolnville is currently closed for 28 days to replace a large culvert.

The closure will be approximately 100ft. on either side of the structure on Route 173 close to the intersection of Route 152 heading toward Searsmont (near the front of the Lincolnville telephone building).

For motorists traveling to Searsmont, detour signs will direct traffic from Route 235 to Route 105. For those traveling from Searsmont toward Lincolnville, detour signs will direct traffic onto Route 105.
