Traffic Sensors to be Installed in Skowhegan

Skowhegan ? MaineDOT crews will be installing traffic classifying sensors in the pavement on US Route 201 (Waterville Road) in Skowhegan starting on Tuesday, October 16th. This two day event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Flaggers will assist with alternating one-way traffic for a quarter mile beginning approximately two miles north of the Varney Road and two tenths of a mile south of Carrier Lane.

Because this work is weather dependent, the rain date is set for Thursday, October 18.

Newport Bridge Joint Repairs

Newport ? Crews will be performing joint repairs on the MCRR and Sebasticook bridges on I-95 in Newport beginning Monday, October 22nd.

The MCRR (Maine Central Railroad) bridge repairs will be on I-95 northbound, which crosses over railroad tracks in Newport. The I-95 southbound repairs will be on the bridge that spans the Sebasticook River in Newport. Both repair locations are approximately one-quarter mile in length and will occur Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Chester Truss Bridge to Close

Chester ? Crews will be repairing the Chester Truss Bridge starting on Monday, October 22nd. This project will necessitate a complete closure to all traffic. While the work is anticipated to be completed within a few days, motorists are advised this bridge closure may continue until Friday, October 26th.

Detour routes will be clearly marked and drivers are encouraged to allow extra time.

The damage to the Chester Truss Bridge is due to unreported impacts, resulting in needed repairs.

I-95 Kittery Bridge Inspection

Kittery ? Crews will be inspecting the Piscataqua River Maine Approach Bridge on I-95 in Kittery Tuesday, October 23rd. This inspection, being conducted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., will necessitate the closure of the right lane and shoulder in both the north and southbound directions respectively.

Crews will begin inspecting the southbound side of the bridge at 9 a.m., immediately followed by the northbound side. This bridge is approximately 1500 ft. long.

Culvert Replacement in Sabattus Tonight

Sabattus ? Crews will be replacing a culvert on Route 126 at the Sabattus/Wales Town line starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 24th and working through the night until 11 a.m. Thursday, October 25th.

There will be alternating one-way traffic at this section of Route 126 and flaggers will be there to assist motorists through the work zone. Motorists should allow extra time or use an alternate route.

TRENTON PAVING BEGINS

Trenton ? Crews will begin paving on Routes 3 and 230 in Trenton starting November 1 and continuing through November 15. Because warmer temperatures are required for paving, this work will take place during daytime hours. Although crews will avoid peak commuting hours, motorists should plan for delays and consider carpooling. In order to complete as much work as possible, crews will also work overnight to prepare the road surface for daytime paving. Daytime paving should be expected Monday through Saturday.

Paving Continues in Trenton

Trenton ? Crews continue the paving operation on Routes 3 and 230 in Trenton. This work will continue today, as well as Saturday, November 17th. Efforts will resume on Monday, November 19th with all paving work expected to be completed for the season on Tuesday, November 20th.

Paving hours each day will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Motorists should expect utility work to continue once the paving crews have vacated the area. This will result in occasional alternating one-way traffic through the area.

Paving Schedule for Routes 3 and 230 in Trenton

Trenton ? Crews will wrap up the paving project on Routes 3 and 230 in Trenton this week.

On Tuesday, November 20th paving on Route 3 will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. resulting in alternating one-way traffic. After 3 p.m., crews will pave the turning lane only, resulting in two- way traffic flowing again on Route 3.

On Wednesday, November 21st from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., crews will pave Route 230 at the intersection with Route 3. Two-way traffic on Route 230 will be maintained.

I-395 Exit Closure

Bangor ? Crews will be performing drainage work necessitating the closure of Exit 3A eastbound on I-395 Wednesday, November 28th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Variable message boards will alert drivers approaching the exit and will be directed to Exit 4. Detour signs will be posted to guide motorists through the area to the desired destination location.
