Paving to Begin on Route 202

Augusta ? Crews will be paving Route 202 from the J&S gas station to the Manchester/Augusta town line beginning Monday, July 15th.

Paving operations will start at 6 a.m. on the west lane which will require a lane closure proceeding to J&S then pave the east lane back to the town line.

Motorists should allow extra travel time and drive cautiously through the work zone.

I-295 Southbound Over St. John Street in Portland Reduced to One Lane

Portland ? The I-295 southbound bridge that runs over St. John Street in Portland will be reduced to one lane Sunday night, July 14th from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, July 15th.

Crews will be repairing bridge joints that will necessitate closing one lane of southbound traffic over this bridge.

Variable message signs will alert drivers approaching the work zone. Motorists should use caution when traveling through this area.

Deer Isle-Sedgwick Bridge Rehabilitation Work to Begin

Sedgwick ? Rehabilitation and preservation work on the Deer isle-Sedgwick Bridge begins on Monday, July 22nd.

Crews will be replacing various parts on the bridge to extend its lifespan and improve the overall condition.

Traffic will be maintained with one lane open on each side of the bridge at all times when work is conducted Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

It is anticipated the rehabilitation work will be completed by mid-December.

Hotel Road in Auburn to Close for 45 Days

Auburn ? The replacement of the Littlefields Bridge spanning the Little Androscoggin River in Auburn will force the closure of the Hotel Road for approximately 45 days beginning Monday, July 29th.

Signs will help guide motorists along the 8 mile detour route that will be in place starting in the early morning hours of Monday, July 29th.

The portion of Hotel road that will be closed is limited to the bridge that carries traffic over the Little Androscoggin River. All other parts of Hotel Road will be accessible.

Road Relocation in Ellsworth

Ellsworth ? Crews are relocating Route 180 off of Route 179 in Ellsworth. The new Route 180 off of Route 1A will open to traffic on Monday, July 29th.

Both the current Route 180 off of Route 179 and the new Route 180 off of Route 1A will remain open until August 12th. After that date, Route 180 off of Route 179 will be open for local traffic only.

Multiple signs will alert motorists of this change, including variable message boards that will be in place on Friday, July 26th.

Section of Route 128 in Woolwich to be Closed

Woolwich ? A section of Route 128 in Woolwich will be closed for approximately 90 days beginning on Tuesday, August 6th at 7 a.m. for a culvert replacement.

Signs and message boards will be in place to guide motorists around the work zone which is located approximately 2.26 miles northerly of the intersection of Route 127 and Route 128.

The work zone is very narrow. Therefore, attempting to maintain traffic within the project limits would not be safe for workers or the traveling public. There will be full access on either side of the work area.

Overnight Joint Repair Work on I-95 Northbound

Fairfield/Benton ? Crews will be performing joint repair work on the Clinton Clauson Bridge northbound on I-95 in Fairfield/Benton beginning just before midnight on Tuesday, August 6th.

This project will necessitate stopping all northbound traffic for approximately 15 to 20 minutes while crews work within the roadway. It is anticipated there will only be two 15 to 20 minute stops, allowing workers to complete the repairs within one to one quarter hours.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead or to seek an alternate route.

Moose Crashes

FARMINGTON, Maine ? After investigating five moose crashes over the last few days, the Franklin County Sheriff?s Department is warning motorists to be on the lookout, especially in the northern areas of the county.
