Ramp Closures on I-95 in Bangor

Bangor ? Starting Monday, October 26th, 2015, crews will be performing night-time electrical work on the lights located at Exit 182 on I-95. The work will be performed between the hours of 8:00 pm and 2:00 am and will necessitate full closures of both Exit 182A and 182B, at alternating times. The work is expected to occur through Wednesday.

Trained electrical crews will be replacing the existing fixtures with Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting. LED lighting is more energy efficient than traditional incandescent lighting, resulting in significant long-term savings.

Fairfield I-95 Northbound Lane Closures Tonight

Fairfield ? Due to the heavy rains and deteriorating surface pavement, crews will be performing patch repair on several large potholes that have opened up in the northbound travel lane on I-95 over the Route 201 bridge in Fairfield.

Maine State Police will be onsite to block the northbound interstate beginning at 9:00 p.m. for several ten minute closures. After each closure, the troopers will reopen the northbound lanes and allow traffic to clear before closing it again until all repairs are complete.

The only release today that was relevant was this morning's notice of the Casco Bay Bridge inspection to begin this Sunday, November 8th.

Casco Bay Bridge Inspection to Begin

Portland ? Beginning on Sunday, November 8th, crews will be performing a routine inspection of the Casco Bay Bridge linking Portland and South Portland.

This activity will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with weekend hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

One lane of traffic will remain open as the inspection takes place on the northbound and southbound sides respectively.

There will be on on-site detour to help guide bicyclists and pedestrians through the work zones.

All work will be completed on Sunday, November 15th.

MAINE, NEW HAMPSHIRE & VERMONT JOIN "WAZE"

AUGUSTA, Maine; CONCORD, N.H.; MONTPELIER, Vt. (October 30, 2015) ? The MaineDOT, New Hampshire DOT and Vermont Agency of Transportation (called Tri-State) today announced a unique data-sharing partnership with Waze (http://www.waze.com), the free crowdsourced navigation app that uses information from drivers to outsmart traffic in real-time. Tri-State and Waze will share their traffic data with each other to enhance each partner?s ability to provide needed traffic information to the traveling public.

Inspection Forces Detour on the Cotton Mill Bridge in Yarmouth

Yarmouth ? Crews will be performing a bridge inspection on the Cotton Mill Bridge on Bridge Street in Yarmouth tomorrow, November 10th that will necessitate a detour.

The bridge will be closed to all vehicular traffic beginning at 7:30 a.m. for the entire day. Motorists will be detoured around Route 115, Route 88 and Willow Street for approximately 2.5 miles.

All work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day on Tuesday, November 10th.

MaineDOT Names I-295 After Longtime Employee

Augusta ? Today, November 13th, the Maine Department of Transportation unveiled highway signs that dedicate I-295 from the Scarborough toll plaza to the West Gardiner toll plaza as the Richard A. Coleman Highway.

Richard Coleman has been employed at MaineDOT since 1956, and was Chief Engineer when the nation?s interstate system was created. Richard played a key role in its construction here in Maine and continued to contribute greatly on various projects through the years including the Penobscot Narrows Bridge.

Railroad Crossing Repairs to Begin in Paris

Paris ? Crews from St. Lawrence and Atlantic Railway will be repairing the railroad crossing on High Street in Paris on Saturday, November 14th.

High Street will be closed in the area of the railroad crossing while repairs are being performed from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Motorists will be detoured to Nichols Street and Elm Hill Road for approximately 4.4 miles.

Crews will return on Monday, November 16th to finish paving the area.

Motorists should allow extra time on both Saturday and Monday while this project is being performed.

Continued Repairs on I-95 Northbound in Fairfield

Fairfield ? Crews will be back in the northbound travel lane on I-95 over the Route 201 bridge in Fairfield to further repair several large potholes from the recent heavy rains.

Maine State Troopers will assist with a rolling roadblock from Waterville Exit 130 to Fairfield Exit 133 northbound beginning at 9:00 p.m. After each rolling roadblock, the Troopers will allow traffic to clear before another is initiated.

Joint Repair Work Begins Near Topsham Bypass

Topsham ? On Monday evening, November 23rd, crews will perform joint repair work on the bridge close to the Topsham bypass on Route 196 in Topsham beginning at 8:00 p.m.

Motorists traveling southbound on Route 196 will be detoured to the Route 1 ramp to Route 24 on Main Street in Brunswick, then cross the bridge over Route 1 and travel back onto the ramp to Route 1 northbound. The total detour route is approximately one mile.

All work is anticipated to be completed before the morning commute on Tuesday, November 24th.
