Augusta ? Tuesday?s impending storm is expected to create dangerous travel conditions throughout the State of Maine. MaineDOT recommends essential travel only as heavy snow combined with high winds will decrease visibility to near zero through the entire day and into the night.
A crash at mile 6 on I-295 southbound in Portland near Tukey's Bridge is causing heavy traffic. The area is currently down to one lane as emergency crews arrive on scene.
Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route.
The Bangor water district has a water main break on Union Street at 15th Street. Currently the lane going from downtown toward the airport is closed while they try to locate the break.
It now appears that the break is on the other side of the road heading from Union Street airport direction toward downtown and has traveled underground to the other side of the street. As they dig to chase the water to is origin, the roadway will be closed in 1 direction at a time.
Augusta ? On Wednesday, February 18, Governor Paul R. LePage joined Maine Department of Transportation officials at the grand opening of 66 Industrial Drive in Augusta. This new facility will consolidate agencies performing similar work in an effort to promote resource sharing.
Augusta - The Maine Department of Transportation is looking to "Talk Transportation" and seeks public input regarding any and all types of transportation issues during a series of public meetings throughout the state in February, March and April.
State Police say Interstate 95 between Newport and Bangor is shut down for a crash involving more than 20 vehicles.
The crash has shutdown both northbound lanes and motorists should take the exits in Etna and Newport to avoid the crash site.
Troopers say at least a half dozen people have been injured. There is no immediate word on the condition of the injured . The crash involves many cars, a school bus and a tractor trailer.

Input from the meetings will help MaineDOT understand the needs of the public and various stakeholders to help the Department formulate its Long-Range Transportation Needs Assessment. The Long-Range Transportation Needs Assessment documents anticipated transportation system needs for the future 20 years, with particular emphasis on the next 10 years.
Ogunquit: Beginning the week of March 1, the Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) will embark on an $13.5 million dollar project to reconstruct Route 1 in Ogunquit and build two new bridges over the Ogunquit and Josias Rivers.
R.J. Grondin & Sons of Gorham has been awarded the contract for work that is expected to continue through December, 2016. Due to the heavy tourism economy of the area, road construction will be suspended from June 18th through Labor Day. Though work on the two new bridges will continue, temporary bridges will keep traffic moving.
Both lanes on I-295 northbound at mile 8 is closed due to cars falling off of a car carrier into the roadway.
Crews are on the scene but it is anticipated the lanes will remain closed near the Westbrook Street ramp for some time.
Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route.
Bangor ? Crews will be working on Interstate 95 during the overnight hours on the Union Street Bridge project. This work involves closing one lane of traffic at a time on the interstate northbound and/or southbound. All work will be performed between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
The schedule for the upcoming week is as follows:
Monday, April 13th: The northbound travel lane will be closed
Tuesday, April 14th: The northbound travel lane will be closed
Wednesday, April 15th: The northbound and southbound passing lanes will be closed
