Paving on Routes 6 and 15 West of Moosehead Lake

PISCATAQUIS AND SOMERSET COUNTIES - The Maine Department of Transportation is performing paving work on parts of Routes 6 and 15 in Piscataquis and Somerset Counties west of Moosehead Lake. The first project area begins 0.17 of a mile east of the Sandwich Academy Grant TWP/Taunton & Raynham Academy Grant town line and extends northeast 5.28 miles to Moose River Lane in Rockwood Strip T1 R1 NBKP. The second project area begins at the Sapling TWP/Big Moose TWP town line and extends south for 5.89 miles. Work started this week and is expected to be finished by September 3rd.

Culvert Replacement Work in Cumberland

CUMBERLAND - The Maine Department of Transportation is replacing a large culvert and installing new water and sewer lines on Tuttle Road in Cumberland. The project area is near the intersection of Harris Road and Tuttle Road nearly two miles southwest of where Tuttle Road meets Route 9. Drivers may encounter a single lane, alternating traffic pattern at times. This project is expected to be finished by September 10th. The contractor is St. Laurent & Sons Excavation, Inc. of Sabbatus. The contract amount is $466,197.

Route 105 Paving Work in Augusta

AUGUSTA - The Maine Department of Transportation is doing paving work and making drainage and safety improvements on Route 105 (S. Belfast Ave.) in Augusta. The project area begins 0.28 miles west of Church Hill Road and extends east for 2.33 miles. Drivers should expect an alternating, single-lane traffic pattern. The contractor on this work is All States Asphalt of Richmond. The contract amount is $365,348. This work should be finished by October 11th.

Work on Leighton Road in Augusta

AUGUSTA - The Maine Department of Transportation is doing paving work and making drainage and safety improvements on Leighton Road in Augusta. The project area begins at Old Winthrop Road and extends north 2.77 miles to Route 8. Paving work may be done at night. Drivers should expect an alternating, single-lane traffic pattern. The contractor on this project is All States Asphalt of Richmond. The contract amount is $476,121. This work is expected to be finished in mid-October.

Route 104 Paving Work in Sidney

SIDNEY - The Maine Department of Transportation is doing paving work and making drainage and safety improvements on Route 104 (W. River Road) in Sidney. The project area begins north of the Augusta city line and extends north more than five miles, ending before Lyon Road. The project area includes the bridge over Goff Brook. Work is scheduled to be finished by mid-October. Drivers may encounter an alternating, single-lane traffic pattern. The contractor on this project is All States Asphalt of Richmond. The contract amount is $756,523.

UPDATE: Route 26 Work in Woodstock

UPDATE: The contractor is using a temporary bypass road to allow the installation of a deep culvert. Alternating one-way traffic will be maintained 24/7 via the use of temporary traffic signals. We estimate the roadway will be reopened to two-way traffic by August 20th. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding while we complete this important work.

Culvert Work on Route 1 in Woolwich

WOOLWICH - The Maine Department of Transportation will be performing rehabilitation work on a large culvert on Route 1 in Woolwich. Work is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, August 18th. The culvert is located 0.19 of a mile northeast of Shaw Road. Two-way traffic will be maintained during this work. The contractor on this project is C.L.H. & Son of Auburn. The contract amount is $245,635. We anticipate this work will be finished by September 17th.

Intersection Improvements in Wiscasset

WISCASSET - The Maine Department of Transportation is making improvements to three intersections along Route 1 in Wiscasset. This work will improve safety and traffic flow. The project areas are at the intersections of Route 1 and Old Ferry Road (Route 144), Old Bath Road, and Birch Point Road. Two-way traffic will be maintained during daytime hours. The contractor on this project is Pratt & Sons of Mechanic Falls. The contract amount is $1,937,245. Our anticipated completion date for this work is October 21st.
