Overnight Ramp Closures Under Wilson Street Bridge in Brewer

BREWER - The Maine Department of Transportation's ongoing work on the new Wilson Street Bridge will require overnight ramp closures this week while the contractor, Wyman & Simpson, Inc., installs structural steel. The I-395 ramps under the bridge will be closed to traffic from 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 12th to 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13th and then again from 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13th to 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14th.

Deer Isle-Sedgwick Bridge Inspection and Paving Work

HANCOCK COUNTY - The Maine Department of Transportation is conducting inspection and paving work on the Deer Isle-Sedgwick Bridge. The historic, 82-year-old bridge carries Route 15 over Eggemoggin Reach between Deer Isle and Sedgwick in Hancock County.

Bridge traffic may periodically be reduced to a single lane to accommodate this inspection and paving work. The anticipated completion date is July 1st.

I-95 Paving Work in Penobscot County

PENOBSCOT COUNTY - The Maine Department of Transportation will be conducting paving work on approximately 15 miles of I-95 between mile marker 228 and the Medway town line. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 26th and be finished by the end of July. This pavement preservation work will require lane closures. The contractor on this work is All States Materials Group of Richmond. The contract amount is $4,016,550.

Route 236 Road Work in Eliot Aimed at Helping Endangered Species

ELIOT - The Maine Department of Transportation will be replacing a culvert on Route 236 in Eliot. The project location is approximately 0.3 miles south of the intersection of Route 236 and Depot Road. We are replacing the old culvert with a bigger one. This will improve drainage and allow safe movement of the Blanding's turtle an endangered species that has recently experienced a high mortality rate on this section of road.

Traffic Sensor Work on Route 27 in Boothbay

BOOTHBAY - The Maine Department of Transportation will be resealing traffic count sensors on Route 27 in Boothbay on Monday, April 26th. The work area is north of the intersection with River Road. Crews will begin working on the southbound side at 8:30 a.m. before moving to the northbound side. This work will require lane closures. The entire project should be complete by the early afternoon. These traffic count sensors allow MaineDOT to accurately count the number of vehicles that use this road throughout the year. This work is weather-dependent.

Northbound I-295 Bridge Work in Portland and South Portland

CUMBERLAND COUNTY - The Maine Department of Transportation will be making improvements to the northbound side of I-295 in Portland and South Portland. We will be repairing bridge joints on seven interstate bridges. This work will improve safety and mobility. The project area begins at the northbound I-295 bridge over State Route 703 in South Portland and extends north to the northbound I-295 bridge over Washington Avenue in Portland.

Work will begin on Monday, April 26th but is not expected to impact traffic until May 3rd. The project should be complete by the end of 2021.

Work on I-95 West of Bangor

PENOBSCOT AND SOMERSET COUNTIES - The Maine Department of Transportation is beginning work on a 13-mile-long stretch of I-95 in Palmyra, Etna, Newport, Plymouth, and Carmel. The construction will occur between exits 157 and 170. The project is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 3rd and will involve paving, bridge, and guardrail work on both the northbound and southbound sides of the interstate.

Traffic Sensor Work on Route 201 in Topsham

TOPSHAM - The Maine Department of Transportation will be working on traffic count sensors on U.S. 201 in Topsham on Monday, May 3rd. The work area will be northeast of Meadow Road. Work will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will be completed the same day. Traffic will be restricted to a single lane while work is being performed. Road sensors provide important information about the number of vehicles that utilize the roadway.

October Weekend Selected for Full Closure of I-295

PORTLAND - The Maine Department of Transportation will be closing I-295 over Veranda Street in Portland from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 22nd to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 25th. Veranda Street (under the bridge) will be closed from 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 18th to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 25th. These closures are being done to accommodate the replacement of the Veranda Street Bridge.

Bridge Work in Norway

NORWAY - The Maine Department of Transportation will be performing a deck replacement on the Pleasant Street Bridge, which carries Pleasant Street (Routes 117 and 118) across the Pennesseewassee Stream in Norway. Work is scheduled to begin on May 9th. Westbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane. Eastbound and pedestrian traffic will be detoured to Water Street. The contractor on this project is Scott Construction Corporation of Portland. Work is expected to be finished by the end of October. The contract amount in Norway is $828,862
