Don't be afraid to tell your kids you're afraid

After an emergency, talk to your kids about your feelings, and listen to what they say to you. It's important to share if you were scared, so children can understand it's okay to be afraid. It's also important to talk about disasters that happen to other people, like the California wildfires. Children may want to know if something like that could happen to them. Help them understand what's happening. Then get them involved in making your family's emergency plan.
