Maine EMS is pleased to release guidance and resources to assist in services and Paramedic ICs in developing and delivering EMT scope of practice expansion education for the December 1, 2021 EMS protocols.
Once EMTs have completed the protocol update they may attend a class on the expanded scope options. These must be approved by a regional office or training center and conducted by a Paramedic Instructor Coordinator (IC). The resources can be found on the Protocol Resources Page. Scroll down to "2021 Protocol Resources" for the Overview and Guideline document as well as lab, resource, and skill sheets for the required Nebulizer module and optional CPAP and 12-Lead Modules.
