Rescheduled Emergency Maine EMS Board meeting Monday Aug 23 at 0900

The Maine EMS Board is conducting an emergency board meeting on Monday, August 23, 2021, at 0900.  The purpose of this meeting is to discuss and act upon the recent emergency immunization rule revision issued by the Maine CDC.  Maine EMS will have IT personnel on standby in case of any technical difficulties, and we have increased our Zoom audience limit to 1,000 people.  We do encourage, following safe COVID guidelines, organizations to offer group attendance via station access if possible.

This meeting is virtual only.

Proposed Maine EMS Board COVID Vaccination Draft rule (PDF)

As many of you are probably already intimately aware, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention issued an emergency rule revision to their immunization rule on August 12, 2021, that added all Maine EMS-regulated entities (i.e., services, training centers, and EMD centers). However, it is important to note that this iteration of the rule only requires EMS entities to ensure compliance of their staff to COVID-19 vaccination, and not the other vaccines required for other healthcare professionals (e.g., measles, mumps, rubella, influenza, etc.). Maine EMS has drafted an Operational Bulletin (see below) that summarizes the changes and their potential implications to Maine EMS-licensed entities.

The operation bulletin can also be found on the Clinical and Operations Bulletin Page on the Maine EMS Website
