NREMT announces changes to distributive education for 2021

The NREMT has announced a waiver on the limit of distributive ("online/recorded") education for 2021 renewals due to COVID-19.  Previously, the NREMT limited the number of hours that could be applied to recertification. This limit has been removed for recertifcation for those who expire in 2021.

Please note:

Maine EMS encourages clinicians to maintain NREMT certification, but once licensed in Maine, you are not required to maintain this certification.  Maine EMS has, and continues to, accept distributive education for all re-certification hours, other than practical skills (psychomotor) hours, as outlined in the renewal requirements of each particular license level.

Maine EMS renewal requirements can be viewed here (PDF).
