In 2024, Maine EMS’s Rules were amended to require that Ambulance and Non-transporting Emergency Medical Services establish a written driver training program and/or standard operating procedure(s) for the operation of vehicles licensed by Maine EMS. As part of the upcoming service renewal application, Maine EMS will collect written driver training program/standard operating procedure documents.
