On October 1, 2025, there will be two changes made in MEFIRS for Patient Care Reporting:
Updates to Names of Northern Light Facilities
Northern Light facility names in MEFIRS use differing formats. These will be aligned to be consistent as follows:
- ACADIA HOSPITAL will become Northern Light Acadia Hospital
- NL- A.R. GOULD HOSPITAL will become Northern Light A.R. Gould
- NL - CHARLES A DEAN HOSPITAL will become Northern Light CA Dean Hospital
- Blue Hill Hospital will become Northern Light Blue Hill Hospital
- AHC - MARS HILL will become Northern Light Continuing Care Mars Hill
- LAKEWOOD CONTINUING CARE CENTER will become Northern Light Continuing Care Lakewood
- EASTERN MAINE MEDICAL CENTER will become Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center
- NL - Webber Building at EMMC will become Northern Light Webber Building Eastern Maine Medical Center
- Maine Coast Memorial Hospital will become Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital
- NL - FAMILY MEDICINE - ORONO will become Northern Light Family Medicine - Orono
- MERCY HOSPITAL - FORE RIVER will become Northern Light Mercy Hospital
- Northern Light Mayo Hospital will remain Northern Light Mayo Hospital
- SEBASTICOOK VALLEY HOSPITAL will become Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital
Image Trend AI Assist
The AI Assist functionality in Elite is designed to speed up data entry by allowing providers to scan an image or record their voice for a short time, and then have Elite analyze the information in the image or voice recording and fill details into the appropriate incident form fields. AI Assist knows medication terminology and abbreviations in addition to other medical terminology.
AI Assist is included in Elite as a standard feature after your site receives the v25.08 release, but your system administrator will need to turn it on before you can use it.
Maine EMS anticipates enabling AI Assist on October 1, 2025. When doing so, it will default to being turned on for all agencies.
