Maine EMS’s Phoenix Awards recognize a licensed clinician or licensed dispatcher who used their skills and knowledge and participated in the successful resuscitation of a patient who experienced an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest that was non-traumatic in nature. As a result, these patients can lead neurologically intact lives.
In 2024,102 patients survived an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Because of many people in the chain of survival, including Maine EMS licensed clinicians and dispatchers, these 102 people were able to see their families, friends, and can live a neurologically intact life.
