This is just a reminder that the updates for the 2023 Protocol Update cycle DO NOT go into effect until 31 JANUARY 2024. This is a change from previous cycles due to EMS Clinician feedback to ensure clinicians have sufficient time to complete protocol update education.
Mandatory participation in the Naloxone Leave Behind Program is effective on 1 Dec 2023. Completion of the Naloxone Leave Behind course on MEMSEd must be completed before that date. The course can be easily reached by signing into MEMSEd and clicking the link to the course, under "Site News."
Important Dates:
1 Dec 2023 - Naloxone Leave Behind MEMSEd course must be completed.
31 Jan 2024 - 2023 Maine EMS Protocol Updates must be completed
31 Jan 2024 - 2023 Maine EMS Protocol Updates go into effect.
