OADS will be creating a Quality Improvement Coalition (QIC) in 2026. A QIC is a group that helps improve the quality of services and supports paid by the State. It will look at both developmental services and long-term supports and services. A QIC can do many different things, like: reviewing data from people’s surveys about their experiences, reviewing State policies and potential changes, and sharing ideas and information.

What This Means
The QIC creates an opportunity for people to share ideas and talk directly with the state on quality improvement priorities. It will also bring together different interest holders and create a chance for them to work together to ensure everybody is receiving high quality services. To achieve this, the QIC may be made up of members, families, providers, and other members of the community.
OADS wants to ensure that the QIC is set up to be as effective as it can be, so in 2026, the Department will focus on setting an agenda and finalizing QIC membership. There will be many chances for people to offer feedback and participate in this process.
