Informational Offshore Wind Meeting Summary (PDF)

The State of Maine is pursuing the development of a wind port that will allow Maine to realize the environmental and economic benefits of the rapidly developing offshore wind market in a way that reflects community values and minimized adverse impacts.

Members of an Offshore Wind Port Advisory Group (OSWPAG) assembled in early 2022 have completed their work and submitted an early engagement final report in July 2023. That report, along with information about OSWPAG meetings and supporting documents, is available at the OSWPAG website.

MaineDOT is continuing to work on site investigation, conceptual design, environmental, and permitting work related to the sites at Mack Point and on Sears Island. We anticipate a preliminary site selection for offshore wind port development in 2024.
