Traffic Safety and Mobility Improvement Project

The Traffic Signal Build Grant project includes updating signal equipment to the most technologically advanced available today at 104 intersections across the State. A major component will include the ability to access the upgraded intersections remotely by way of the newly created Traffic Management Center located at the MaineDOT Augusta Headquarters Office. Improving signal timing to be able to move traffic more efficiently is a major goal of the project.
