Maine Department of Education is Inviting All Maine Schools & Community Partners to Help Celebrate The 4th Annual International SEL DAY 

Uplifting Hearts & Connecting Minds

The Maine Department of Education is excited to participate in the 4th annual International SEL Day celebration again this year. The theme of this year’s event is Uplifting Hearts and Connecting Minds. 

We recognize that Maine educators and community partners do the work of uplifting hearts & connecting minds with each authentic relationship built with youth. We also know with certainty that when all youth feel valued, safe, seen, cared for, represented, and loved that they can form meaningful connections with trusted adults and peers and they can be successful in meeting their academic and life goals. This work begins with ourselves as adults and leaders taking care of ourselves, as we take care of the needs of our youth. This is truly the heart of Social Emotional Learning.  

We invite you to take part in celebrating ways to connect with your colleagues and your students today & every day, as we work together to build strong connections where all people feel valued, and safe and know that they belong.
