Student data privacy is extremely important

The Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is the federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education. FERPA sets guidelines on what data the Maine DOE releases and how it does so. More information on FERPA can be found at the Electronic Code of Federal Regulations
