Maine's Brands

  • UMaine’s School of Business and the Cutler Institute published an overview of Maine’s brand perception in September 2023, surveying both Maine businesses and U.S. consumers. One key finding:  Maine businesses and U.S. consumers alike agree that the Maine brand influences the development of products and services. In fact, U.S. consumers are willing to pay 22% more for Maine products and services.  Here is a short overview of their findings (PDF)

  • Maine Outdoor Brands - Maine Outdoor Brands (MOB) is a non-profit, member-led alliance of nearly fifty Maine-based outdoor product companies whose combined annual sales exceed $2B.
  • Maine Made - The Maine Made Program is operated via the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development to assist Maine makers and artisans with enhanced market exposure and increased revenues through its nationally recognized branding.
  • Real Maine - Promoting Maine agricultural products and services to out-of-state consumers under a unified banner
  • #EatMaineSeafood - Anyone can easily join is the #EatMaineSeafood campaign. The Maine Aquaculture Association is working with the Maine Coast Fisherman’s Association to encourage seafood consumers, producers, restaurants, industry groups, and other stakeholders to use the hashtag across their social media platforms. Join the campaign by using the hashtag on your own social media.
  • SeafoodfromMaine - A seafood promotion program with the Maine Department of Marine Resources.
