2027 Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA) – Wellness Wallet Pilot Program

The State of Maine will offer the Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA) – Wellness Wallet Pilot Program to primary subscribers and dual-contact members under the active State of Maine Health Plan in 2027. This program was created in response to requests from members seeking alternative ways to obtain reimbursement for expenses incurred while taking steps to achieve and sustain health, wellness, and well-being.

Open enrollment (OE) for the 2027 LSA/Wellness Wallet Pilot Program will be conducted in PRISM from October 1, 2026, through October 30, 2026. The PRISM open enrollment task must be completed and submitted in PRISM by October 30, 2026, at 5:00 PM ET. The 2027 LSA/Wellness Wallet Pilot Program will run from January 4 through December 15, 2027. Enrolled members will be eligible to access up to a $200 subsidy for calendar year 2027 on reimbursements for eligible health, wellness, well-being, and lifestyle expenses.

To be eligible and enrolled in the 2027 LSA/Wellness Wallet Pilot Program, a State of Maine employee must:

Be an active State of Maine employee on the State of Maine Health Plan as the Primary Subscriber. (*Dual Contract employees ‘active’ on the State of Maine Health Plan are both eligible to enroll)
Have completed the requirements for the prior year (2026) and/or the current year (2027) Health Premium Credit Program (HPCP) before 5:00 PM ET on 10/30/2026.

Only State of Maine employees who meet the above requirements by 8:00 am on 10/1/2026 will receive the 2027 LSA/Wellness Wallet Pilot Program open enrollment task in their individual PRISM inbox. (*Note: If you did not receive a 2027 LSA/Wellness Wallet Pilot Program open enrollment task on 10/1/2026 in PRISM, please contact info.wellness@maine.gov before 10/30/2026 to request assistance evaluating your individual eligibility)

Participating Ancillary employers’ employees must meet their individual employers' 2027 LSA/Wellness Wallet Pilot Program benefit eligibility requirements. All participating Ancillary employers conduct their own 2027 LSA/Wellness Wallet Pilot Program enrollment separate from the State of Maine.

If a member is currently enrolled/select in the 2026 LSA/Wellness Wallet Pilot Program, and you do not open the 2027 LSA/Wellness Wallet OE task during the OE term (10/1/2026 through 10/30/2026 at 5:00 PM, then the PRISM OE default will mean the member is automatically enrolled in the 2027 LSA/Wellness Wallet Pilot Program effective 1/1/2027.

*Note: All applicants' eligibility will be assessed and validated by the State of Maine, Bureau of Human Resources, Office of Employee Health, Wellness, and Workers’ Compensation, and our vendors.

**If you are currently enrolled/select in the 2026 LSA/Wellness Wallet Pilot Program and you do not open the 2027 LSA/Wellness Wallet OE task during the OE term (10/1/2026 through 10/30/2026 at 5:00 PM, then the PRISM OE default will mean the member is automatically enrolled in the 2027 LSA/Wellness Wallet Pilot Program effective 1/1/2027.

How the Program Works: Starting in January 2027, eligible enrolled members will see $200 deposited into their Wellness Wallet via their ThrivePass account. Enrolled 2027 LSA/Wellness Wallet Pilot Program participants will be able to use this benefit in one of two ways: Through the ThrivePass Marketplace or Reimbursement for Wellness Wallet Pilot Program-approved claims paid out-of-pocket by the enrolled member. Once a member's enrollment is confirmed, you will receive an email from ThrivePass in early January 2027 with instructions on how to access the online portal, create your profile, and start using your 2027 LSA/Wellness Wallet Pilot Program services through ThrivePass.

***Important: ThrivePass will use your PRISM work email address to communicate account access and balance information. If you go on any form of unpaid leave of absence (LOA) or terminate employment, you will not have access to the 2027 LSA/Wellness Wallet Pilot Program as of the LOA or termination date in PRISM.
