Super Pack Antlerless Deer Permit Frequently Asked Questions

What is a super pack antlerless deer permit?

If you are successful in receiving a super pack antlerless deer permit, you have permission to legally hunt and register a second deer (must be antlerless) that can be taken during the regular archery/crossbow, firearm or muzzleloader season.

How do I apply for a super pack antlerless deer permit?

After you purchase a super pack license, you may apply online for a super pack antlerless deer permit as part of the regular antlerless deer permit application process. Super pack license holders will apply using the antlerless deer permit application and check off that they have a super pack license.

How many super pack deer permits will be issued?

In any WMD with more than 2,000 antlerless deer permits, up to 2.5% of the permits will be given to super pack license holders as super pack antlerless deer permits.

How will the permit be assigned?

By computerized lottery, each application will be assigned a random number. Super pack license holders who have applied will be entered into the lottery for the super pack permits. If a person is not chosen for a super pack antlerless deer permit, they will be entered into the regular lottery.

Do I need to pay a fee for my super pack antlerless deer permit?

If super pack license holders are awarded a super pack antlerless deer permit through the lottery, they must claim the permit but will not need to pay the fee. If the permit recipient does not claim their permit by the deadline, that permit will be forfeited. If the permit was acquired during the regular lottery drawing and not the super pack drawing, the recipient must pay the fee.

If you receive and claim a permit through the lottery, you may purchase a second antlerless deer permit online at mefishwildlife.com on a first come, first serve basis.

If you do not receive a permit through the lottery, you can purchase an antlerless deer permit online at mefishwildlife.com on a first come, first serve basis.

Does buying the super pack license guarantee that I will get a permit to register a second deer?

No. If there are more super pack antlerless deer permit applicants than there are available permits, it is possible that some applicants will not win a super pack antlerless deer permit, but if this occurs they will be entered into the regular antlerless deer permit lottery.

Can a non-resident apply for a super pack deer permit?

No. Only residents may buy a super pack license.

What happens if there are more permits available than applications for super pack permits?

Any extra super pack antlerless deer permits not allocated to super pack applicants will be transferred to the regular resident application pools.

Can super pack license holders also apply for the regular antlerless deer permit lottery?

Yes. Any super pack license holder who does not win a super pack antlerless deer permit will be entered into the appropriate landowner (25% of the permits) or regular antlerless deer permit lotteries using the same WMDs/subunits selected for the super pack portion of the lottery.
