Falmouth - Bucknam & Johnson Rd Bridge Replacement

MaineDOT is replacing the bridges that cross I-295 in Falmouth over Bucknam and Johnson Roads.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY | Bridge closure - 11/6, 11/7, and 11/11

Please be advised that work on the Johnson Rd. Bridge over I-295 at Mile 12 will require multiple closures of I-295 NB & SB to accommodate the removal of the existing structural steel beams. These closures will begin 11-6-24 and take place between 10:00PM and 5:00am. They will continue through 11/7, and Monday 11/11 – and will be executed using a State Police Detail.

Advance warning of the closure will be posted on Variable Message Boards North and South of the project to allow traffic to exit prior to the closure. The closures will last no longer than 25 minutes and then traffic will be opened back to normal. We appreciate your patience and cooperation while we complete this work.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY | Long-term bridge closure

Please be advised that the Johnson Rd. Bridge will be closed today (10/15/24) for a duration of 300 days to accommodate removal and replacement of the existing bridge. It will reopen on August 11, 2025. Johnson Rd. will be closed to all thru traffic during this closure.
