Lewiston - Phase 3 of the Sabattus Street Water Main Replacement Project is set to begin construction on Monday August 22nd.
The project will pick up where phase 2 left off at Grove Street and continue 4,200 feet to Golder Road. Traffic will be reduced to one lane for the 12-week project and motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes.
The 50-year-old section of cast iron water main has had several major emergency repairs and is critical for providing water to a large portion of the city. Residents will be notified door-to-door prior to any scheduled water shut-downs.
