Mount Desert ? Beginning Monday afternoon, June 20th, crews will begin slope stabilization work on Route 3 in Mount Desert. The slope is located approximately one-half mile south of the Asticou Hill Trail.
Motorists should expect alternating one-way traffic with flaggers along the 1500ft. work zone.
This proactive work will be done in two phases:
Phase One: Beginning on Monday, June 20th, crews will temporarily stabilize loose vegetation along the slope as well as removing selected tress and rock. It is anticipated this work will be completed within two weeks.
Phase Two: This fall, crews will return to finalize the slope stabilization work.
This project will be performed between 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through the work zone.
