Fairfield ? The I-95 southbound bridge which spans Route 201 in Fairfield is undergoing a deck replacement that will impact motorists beginning on Monday, March 7th.
Crews will be installing signs and performing work in the median which will restrict traffic to a single lane in both the north and southbound directions. Motorists are advised to allow for extra time and to be aware of the reduced speed limits within the work zone. In addition, wide loads will be restricted between Exits 132 and 138.
This $2 million project includes replacing the concrete decks on the northbound and southbound bridges; installing new bridge decks and waterproof membranes; replacing existing curb and rail along the bridge; and paving.
This project, performed by T. Buck Construction, Inc. of Auburn, is expected to be completed by July 4th, 2016.
Beginning on July 5th, 2016, crews will begin the deck replacement of the Western Avenue Overpass spanning I-95. That project is expected to continue through November of 2016.
