Smithfield-Norridgewok ? Crews will be back this season paving, placing loam, installing curbing, paving sidewalks and grading driveways on Route 8 in Smithfield and Norridgewok beginning on Monday, May 11th.
The project will start at the intersection of Island Lane in Smithfield and extend 7.3 miles to Route 2 in Norridgewok. From Perkins Street, the project will begin at Route 8 and extend 0.53 of a mile to Route 2.
Motorists should expect slight delays through the work zones that will feature alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers. There will be several work zones through the project each day.
It is anticipated all work will be completed by the end of June, 2015.
This $10.4 million project will be performed by Pratt & Sons, Inc. of Mechanic Falls.
