Paving Operations to Start in the Skowhegan Area

Augusta ? Crews will be paving thirty-four miles of road beginning on Monday, June 2nd. As the crews move from town to town, motorists will experience alternating one-way traffic patterns.

The paving will start and end at the following locations:

  • Canaan, Hartland ? from the junction of Route 23 Hartland Road and route 2 northerly to the junction of Route 23 and Main Street in Hartland

  • Embden ? The intersection of Dunbar Hill Road, Fahi Pond Road and Crosstown Road, then the intersection of Crosstown Road and Kennebec River Road. (Route 201A)

  • Madison/Cornville ? The intersection of Route 43 and Golf Course Road. 9.23 miles easterly to the intersection of Route 43 and Beckwith and Shadagee Road.

  • Norridgewock/Skowhegan ? From the junction of Route 201A and Black Road easterly 4.44 miles

  • Norridgewock ? From the junction of Route 2 and Airport Road 2.87 miles westerly to the end of Airport Road

  • Smithfield/Mercer ? From the junction of Route 2 and Route 137 southerly to the junction of Route 137 and Route 8.

This $1.4 million light capital paving project will be performed by Pike Industries, Inc. of Fairfield.
