PORTLAND ? CPM Constructors will be restricting traffic to one alternating lane of traffic starting Wednesday, June 4 through Tuesday June 10th (excluding Saturday and Sunday) in order to begin paving operations on the new Martin?s Point Bridge. This work is weather-dependent. The work will begin at 7 a.m. and continue through until 7 p.m. CPM does not expect significant delays, but travelers who do not want to be subjected to any potential delay should find alternate routes.
This is one of the last tasks to take place before the new bridge can be opened to vehicular traffic; the multi-use path on the new bridge was opened to pedestrians and bicyclists on Monday.
The Martin?s Point Bridge was built in 1943; the replacement is now being built adjacent to the existing bridge and should be open to traffic within the next month.
