York ? Crews will begin a paving project on Route 1 in York beginning Sunday evening, August 9th.
The project begins at the Kittery/York town line and extends northerly on Route 1 for 2.58 miles to 0.21 of a mile south of the Maine Turnpike Spur.
Alternating one-way traffic will be maintained by flaggers between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
Work includes the replacement of two failing culverts near the Kittery town line, removal of roadway pavement, adjusting catch basins and manholes to grade, grinding joints in driveways and side roads and paving a new surface on the roadway with turning lanes. Crews will then pave transitions into driveways and side roads.
It is anticipated all work will be completed the end of the day on Friday, August 11th.
Pike Industries, Inc. will perform this $724,000 project.
