MaineDOT to Work on Routes 9 and 99
Drivers should plan for one way alternating traffic Monday through Friday from 6 A.M. to 6 P.M.
WELLS/KENNEBUNK/KENNBUNKPORT– May 26, 2026 — Starting May 26, the Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) will begin work on Routes 9 and 99 in Wells, Kennebunk, and Kennebunkport for paving and ADA ramp improvements.
The project location includes Route 9 from the Route 1 intersection to the Main Street intersection, and Route 99 from the Route 1A intersection to the Lilac Road intersection.
During the project, drivers will encounter alternating one way traffic Monday through Friday from 6 A.M. to 6 P.M.
The project work includes milling, paving, catch basin adjustment, curb installation, ADA ramp reconstruction, shoulder widening, and roadway painting.
Work is expected to be completed by Fall 2026.
The contractor on this project is Shaw Brothers Construction, Inc. of Gorham, Maine.
The contract amount is $2,177,733.60.
