Drivers should plan for delays due to one-way alternating traffic.

GREENVILLE/SHIRLEY/MONSON/ABBOT – April 6, 2026 — The Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) has begun road work in Greenville, Shirley, Monson and Abbot for a pavement preservation and improvement project. Flaggers will be on site directing one way alternating traffic for the duration of the project. The project area begins at Lily Bay Road in Greenville and extends south 24.72 miles. The project area ends .05 miles north of the Guilford / Abbott town line. The project work includes pavement milling, cold in-place recycling of asphalt, and hot mix asphalt overlay.

Work is expected to be completed by August 2026. 

The contractor on this project is Gordon Contracting, Inc. of Sangerville, Maine.

The contract amount is $23,694,509.00
