MaineDOT to Perform Intersection Work in Portland
Drivers should prepare for one-way alternating traffic.
PORTLAND – March 30, 2026 — Starting on March 30, the Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) will begin intersection work in Portland. This project begins at the intersection of Woodford St. and Brighton Ave and ends at the intersection of Deering Ave and Park Ave. This is a pavement preservation project that involves pedestrian safety improvements. This project is necessary to maintain the structure of the roadway and to improve the pedestrian safety by updating sidewalk ramps to ADA compliance.
There will be one-way alternating traffic on Woodford St. and Deering Ave for the project duration. Drivers should expect longer commute times. Work is expected to be completed by July 2026.
The contractor is Shaw Brothers of Gorham, Maine. The contract amount is $2,718,344.50.
