MaineDOT to Inspect the New Frank J. Wood Bridge

Drivers should plan for detours and delays on January 21, 2026.

BRUNSWICK – Jan. 15, 2026 — On January 21, 2026, the Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) will be conducting an inspection of the new Frank J. Wood bridge from 8:30 A.M. to 12 P.M. Drivers heading northbound will be redirected and should follow detour signs. During this time, northbound traffic traveling from Brunswick to Topsham will be detoured via the Topsham Bypass and Route 196. Drivers heading southbound will be able to cross the bridge during the inspection. Pedestrian access will be allowed during the inspection. Vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be controlled by flaggers. In the event of inclement weather, the inspection will be conducted on January 22, 2026.
