MaineDOT to Improve Route 1 in Brunswick

Drivers should plan for lane closures from 8:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.

BRUNSWICK– May 5, 2026 —  From May 5 to May 8, the Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) will implement daytime lane closures from 8:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. on U.S. Route 1 in Brunswick, affecting both northbound and southbound traffic, as crews install new guardrail crash cushions.

Closures will occur on the approaches and ramps to the Main Street Bridge and the Topsham Bypass Bridge.

The contractor for this project is Coastal Road Repair of Westbrook, Maine.

The contract amount is $15,544,396.25.
